2 week viral loads
« on: April 30, 2016, 08:53:05 am »
Had my labs done this week. From 2,500,000 to 7. I know I should be excited but honestly I feel like I'm waiting for "the other shoe to drop." Treated 3 times unsuccessfully and this seems too good to be true. Has anyone else felt this way?
But part of my brain is apparently believing because I changed my toothbrush and threw my razor away along with anything else where the virus may be lingering, like nail oil.
BTW I am treating with generic Harvoni from a Gilead licensed factory in India.
It's a GOOD day!!!

Hi Suze

If you read my signature you will see I failed 3 treatments with interferon based treatment I had zero response to interferon ribavirin if fact my viral load increased on treatment.

I also relapsed after treating for 12 weeks with Sovaldi/ Olysio in 2014. I treated for 24 weeks with harvoni because I have had cirrhosis for 8 years and was cured 12 months ago yesterday.

I did not change my toothbrush except one time because it was normal time to change it. I still have the same nail clippers from before treatment.

Harvoni is great stuff your odds of cure are much better than mine were. We all worried hoping treatment will work it is only natural especially for those of us who have failed before.

Have faith in this treatment your odds of being successful are very very good.

Thank you Lynn K! I am feeling better about this treatment. Isn't it strange to feel relatively few sides (comparatively) and be on treatment? I had headaches, now it's nausea, but nothing like the old tx's. It's truly a miracle drug, it's sad that so few can access.
I am blessed to have discovered the Gilead licensed generics in India, otherwise treatment would have been unavailable for me (until I was sicker!)

Your stats are wonderful!!!!

Per the trial data most people did not experience side effects about 10-15 percent experienced side effects the most common being headaches so 85 to 90 percent of people did not so actually not experiencing much in the way of side effects at least based on the clinical trials would actually not be strange to not experience sides it would in fact be not unusual at all.

I am glad you are with the majority who don't have many if any sides and good luck with the rest of your treatment

lol Lynn well that is good to know I don't have to be quite so careful with being reinfected via everything I touch. Have been a bit paranoid it seems, throwing out a toothbrush per day....but they are cheapie tootbrushes...got a huge package of 144 of them for only 8 dollars via Amazon.

My gums don't bleed, nor do my nails bleed when i cut them, but something to truly be cautious of is my earrings as there is a bit of blood sometimes on the posts. I bought cheapie throwaway earrings for peace of mind.
Between F2 & F3
Alt & Ast nearly 100
Viral load over 8 million
Gt 3a

Treated 12 weeks with Sovaldi & Daklinza, start date mid-April 2016
Undetected at 4 weeks into treatment
Alt & Ast  normal
Treatment completed July 14
Most likely will be undetected at 12 weeks (mid October 2016) as symptoms are gone

Yeah a lot of people bought cheep throw away toothbrushes. I did figure if that had any validity one would have to only use each one once. But I guess we all worry about not clearing the virus and want to feel we are doing all we can.

So what ever works for you to be less worried sure why not.

Best to you :)
