Three years post cure.
« on: October 28, 2017, 10:58:35 am »
Hello to my old friends who are still posting and Hi to new members.
This time three years ago, I was in the fight using Olysio & Solvida. Early in December will mark my three year anniversary of winning the war.
Last week I had a rather emotional follow up appointment (we both cried) with the wonderful IDS that was able to get me the meds that saved my liver when so many were having problems obtaining them. Although she had declared me cured and released me from her care, she has been checking in on a few of the early ones on DAAs to see how we were doing long term post cure. We were both happy with my state of health especially considering the fact that I am an older one. We discussed the rather large black box warnings that are now issued for Harvoni and the other DAAs. She is still curing people with little evidence of contradictions or issues indicated in the warnings.
I had one more HCV RNA & viral load test for the road. No sign of the Dragon was found and now at almost three years post, I can finally say without any hesitation that I am cured.

Congratulations, Bucky -- that's terrific! Thanks for letting us know your IDS has "little evidence of contradictions or issues indicated in the warnings."

Time to update your sig file? Your SVR must be around 146 by now (depending on exactly when you took the recent HCV RNA & viral load test).
