I am scared and I don’t want to die
« on: July 09, 2020, 05:47:24 pm »
I hope someone can help me and give me advise . I was diagnosed at age 19 for hep b till on this day I have no clue on how gotten it . I was a virgin when they tested me . I am 38 now . My older sister also have it but not sure if my other two siblings have it. My mom never mentioned anything about the disease. Anyways I never had any treatment
As all of my results is good and I’ve only seen my dr.  In 2018 my alt is 22 and my viral load is 860 but this year my viral load is 3140 and alt is still 22. When I heard that my viral load increased significantly I cried . Am I going to die now ?

I’ve searched online and it said if your viral load is more than 2000 need treatment . But then it also said if your alt is normal no need for treatment . I am confused?

I am just scared that significant increased of my viral load and def don’t want my liver damage . I was referred to Hepatology and I did more blood tests and have a appt for liver scan . Please advise . Any advise would be appreciated . I hope this forum is still active as it doesn’t seem like there is any active forum in regards to hep b . This is just driving me crazy and depressed .

Hang in there your doctor will have the best advice for you. But just know that many people have lived long normal lives while chronically infected with hep B.

Start with being kind to your liver starting with no alcohol and eating a healthy diet.

Best of luck

Hi! There aren't too many people active on the Hep B board. Most of us here on the forum have or had Hep C. Art Vandelay wrote a really good running commentary of his Hep B experience and treatment that he posted here from 2015-2018. Many people commented with additional information. Here is the link in case you haven't already seen it. It might be of some help to you. https://forums.hepmag.com/index.php?topic=3133.0

I don't personally know much about Hep B. Wish I could help. But good luck to you!

Hello KeepingItPositive - I am a chronic hep B carrier and most of us live long productive and happy lives, especially if we don't drink alcohol. Be guided by your specialist doctors and you should be okay. Try not to stress out!  :)
