Thanks Jack; I already filled in my calendar also; day 84 happens to be the 4th of July. Good day for fireworks.

Just took my first pills; it's 8AM where I am.

Rik, I know for outsiders that have not been in 'I have Hep C land' it may seem strange, but I can't wait to see your results from your 4 week blood test!  -jack

Jack; yeah, gotta agree about outsiders,and I'm a Newbie; this is all new to me. But great support and good vibes all over this board. I received a very similar comment from a friend that recently completed chemo and radiation treatments. Most folks can't understand the emotions attached to this. Getting older sux - stuff breaks easier, hurts more, takes longer to fix, then you find stuff you didn't know you had.

But - enough of that - day 1 of 84 to SVR :)

Lab paperwork already in hand, and reminders on the calendar.

Hi Rick,

I just took shot number 12 and have 6 more days of pills left, which will complete my 84 day course.

The side effects have been manageable and it seems like it went fast.

I was undetectable at week 4, and will have my EOT VL done 4/18/14.

I'm getting pretty excited and hope the news is good!

Let me know if you have any questions, as I'm on the same treatment as you.

Best wishes for success and hang in there (the treatment goes pretty fast), Mike

That's great news Mike - so July is big for you too, as the 3 month post treatment labs will tell you if cured or not!  I know you will be the way you responded at 4 weeks.  What great news this is for eliminating this awful virus!  -jack

I know all about the count down. I kissed the PEG shot before I took it.

I just loaded up my medicine counter with the last 5 days of pills. I kissed the last Solvaldi pill I'll take on Thursday and kissed the last RIBV pill I'll take that night.

I'll probably kiss them again and say a little prayer before they go down the old hatch!

Thanks everyone.

Best wishes for all of our success, Mike

Mike, I love that. Did anyone notice the GSI on the Sovaldi? I make up different meanings for it before I take the pill every night...like God Sent Intervention....or...God's Sunshine In a pill...like you said I am also praying for all of our recoveries.

Day 3 of 84 - side effects update;

Pleased to say very minor so far.

I've been tired and napping a lot.  The SOL+Riba is making me a bit fuzzy and slow, but not too big a deal. Had a lingering headache from the PEG, but Tylenol too care of that. A bit of stiff muscles, especially in my shoulders, but no worse than the day after a tough workout at the gym. Again Tylenol or Advil works, as well as stretching. And some minor constipation for the first two days.

I'll consider myself very lucky. 82 to go and counting.

Hi Rick,

I had the same side effects. The headaches are from the SOL and Tylenol worked, and they seemed to disappear after the first 4 weeks. I felt a little fuzzy the first week and seemed to subside once my body got use to the new meds.

Make sure you drink plenty of water!

Best wishes, Mike

Thanks Mike;

I was hoping as I get used to some of the reactions, they will dissipate with time. I'm drinking so much water I've already worn a path to the bathroom :)  A hot pack works wonders on the muscles; as does a massage.
