Finally starting treatment
« on: April 15, 2014, 08:03:44 pm »
Finally received my solvaldi/Ribavirin from Rightsource. Went to the Doc in Jan. of this year got tested and my viral load was 3.5 mil. First Humana turned down solvadi said it wasn't on there list, to new.(think it was the price.) Then I had to appeal their decision and I won (a miracle). Then they told me my co-pay would be 7000.00 for the 12 months. Found Patient Access Network , they gave me a grant for 7000.00 and everything was great, still took them 3 weeks to finally send me the meds. Hope everything is smooth sailing from now on. Hope everyone in our predicament gets the help they need. My wife passed Feb 8 2013 from her liver shutting down don't wish that on anyone. Thanks for listening , can't really talk about this to anyone else.     PS I am geno Type 2 got my fingers crossed.

So happy to hear your drugs were approved. Also glad to hear you don't have to take the Pegasys, that is what is causing me the most pain. My son-in-law works for Humana and he said that they deny everyone the first time around, but when they go through appeal they have all been approved. Good luck with your treatment three more weeks to go for me :)

Good luck Rich; the wait on insurance, as well as the "how much is this going to cost me" is the pits; that's behind you now.

I started SOL+RIB+INTF 3 days ago, 81 to go :)   Yea!
