4 week results in using triple cocktail
« on: May 22, 2014, 07:14:31 pm »
From a starting VL of 34 million, after 4 weeks, VL =  ZERO, NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH, UNDETECTABLE. I'm a happy camper.

All other standard blood tests still in the normal range.

Side effects have been manageable; the worst being the fatigue and lethargy. Another 6 weeks to go, so, halfway there. Graduation day is 4th July.

Wishing good thoughts Purple. Assume he's on a 12 week program? If so, he's 2/3's the way; hang in there. Only 4 weeks left.

I really HATE having to take these drugs; I'm 62, so it's not as if I don't take the usual set of meds, but, for some reason, having to do this gets to me. This was my first time for treatment, so, fortunately for me, I don't have the history many folks on this board do with very long and failed treatments.

This is his 2nd try at treatment had incivek and peg last time and didn't work was to be 48 weeks made it to 24 no change so they took him off, he also got a rash from the incivek which I hear from his dr. cause a lot of skin issues.  Anyway, he is 55 , found out 2010, starting treatment Feb/11 between then and Jan of his year went from Stage 1 to 3 in 1.5 yrs. has the start of cirrhosis.  Dr asked if he was drinking , tyenol etc and he wasnt doing anything only thing he did do was take Milk thistle and he was angry he didn't tell him he was taking that.. He feels that is what make if move faster.,  Anyway, this his only choices right now this and liver transplant which is hard to get in canada.  Anyway, sounds like solvaldi it the drug so I am hoping that when his test get back it is good news.  trying hard to keep the Faith
