Fibrospect ll score
« on: June 23, 2014, 09:16:24 pm »
My fibrospect ll score was 2-4.  what is this score compared to a liver biopsy score.  does anybody know. denied sof/sim because uhc said the request for this prescription is denied.  the requested medicine is used for a virus when you have stage 3 or 4 liver fibrosis.  thanks for any info

There isn't enough info on here to answer your question. My fibrospect had a score (0 to 100), and from there, a range is estimated. Mine was 64, which meant it was 85% likely I was in fibrosis stage 2-4. I suspect your 2 - 4 means the same thing. Not helpful if you are looking for sof/sim. However, good news if you are stage 2, meaning that waiting until the fall for new drugs is a possibility. How would you know? Fibroscan is a great option if you have it in your area. Other than that or a liver biopsy, your doc can look at your platelets and make an educated guess. I followed up with a liver biopsy, and it was stage 2.

You can appeal the denial, but would help to know your stage.

thanks Lucinda.   just got back from dr app.    asked him about fibrospectll score.  He said the score  is 85  which evidentally   is 2:4.  uhc doesn't think this translates out to f3 or f4 metavar score and I don't know either yet.  he scheduled me to have a liver biopsy  to see.  he didn't seem to know how to convert to metavar score . do you?  trapper

This doesn't covert to anything more than a range, meaning you are between F2 and F4 - big range, little info, sorry. Do you know your platelets? (it is part of the complete blood count/CBC)

Lucinda;  platelets are 132.  one of uhc criteria to be ineligible for treatment with peginterferon is baseline platelet count below 70,000/ul
