On my way to the approval process
« on: October 27, 2014, 01:07:25 pm »
It appears that I'm having two be mediator between the insurance company and the pharmaceutical company.   I would never know at what point the process would be at if I did not have to make my daily calls to routinely checked into the web site to find out if any information on the approval process has changed.

For anybody that has gone through this process may be with Cigna was there an estimated waiting time before, it would be approved was it weeks and months I'm hoping it's only weeks since been about three weeks as it is right now.  Here Cigna was waiting and blood work that they requested but my Dr. Never told me that I had to have additional blood work done.

I will be going on Solvadi with Ribavirin because of HPC genotype 3.

Also are there any charities that are wiling to pay for this particular type of treatment?  My nephew was refused from Medicate because of the cost.

When I had my first appointment with my gastroenterologist, the other drug was never mentioned, just the combo of Solvadi with Ribavirin I believe because of Genotype three and a 24 week treatment instead of the 12 week treatment.

Believe the insurance money for Riboflavin is a drop from pockets form the insurance company but Solvadi is not. Currently playing by the books as I know nothing when it comes to this and will have to work with others that have been thru the process for some enlightenment.  I am so grateful for the help that I have gotten!!!
