I had my GI run a post-treatment 6 month viral load for my own piece of mind.

It came back undetectable! It's official in anyone's book: SVR24 = cured!

That's got to feel great Mike!
I'm hoping for the same. This Harvoni is way better  than the peg/rib I did a while back. I have no sides at all. Not even a headache.  It has only been 10 days.  Fingers crossed.
Peace and congrats!

Thanks everyone. Hopefully I'll be one of the last people  cured with an INTF+RIBV combination (this was in conjunction with Sovaldi).

Regardless, I would have done it again in a minute! The side effects were nowhere near what they were when I did 48 weeks of the stuff 'back-in-the-day."

I hope everyone of you is cured - I truly do!

Best wishes, Mike

Hi Ranjankoyn.....  I know!...I can't believe what a great treatment this is.   I volunteered both days this weekend,   just feel so positive and grateful to be getting rid of hep C!   I don't sleep well on it. my DR. suggested tranzadone and sinequan which both make me feel super druggy.   I don't like ambien.  What are you taking for sleep?

Just need to know what is out there and doesn't leave you feeling drugged.

 thanks!  anyone? big hug!

Congrats Mike. It's not called SVR with Harvoni, it's called totally cured. I was one of the lucky ones and was on a Gilead trial with Harvoni back in 2012.I was undetectable after one week and remained that way through the trial and my doctor says that the only way for it to come back is to be re-infected. I did not have much liver damage and today my liver is normal. Loaded up on some great wine, so cheers to you.

EzAL

Just to comment results for SVR were not 100% so there were a small amount of people who did relapse so not all people who treat with Harvoni and again test positive for the virus became reinfected some did in fact relapse.

On the ION 1 there were 3 relapse of the 645 treatment naive patients. In the ION 2 study of treatment experienced group 20 % with cirrhosis 94-99% achieved SVR of the 440 patients in the trial. So if I fail for my 5th treatment I would hate for someone to think I became reinfected based on your remark.

I raise a toast to your SVR but for me it will have to be grape juice.

Good Morning!  Thanks Lynn and EzAl, these are things we all wonder about and need more information on.  I raise my cup of coffee in toast to you both:)

Lynn, you've been through so much and, in reading your other posts, I can tell you have researched and gained lots of valuable information that you graciously share with our Forum Family.  You are no quitter, girl, a real warrior - I can't even imagine what you've gone through physically and emotionally to be on your 5th treatment!

I'd really love to hear more input on this topic and for one of the moderators to give us their comments.  My lab results were UND and I'm hoping they continue to be so, but I'm sure not doing anything that could inflame or adversely impact my liver as I complete my treatment.  I'd like to think I could have a glass of wine some day, but I think that day is a long way away.   ...Islandgirl

I will feel more assured that I am cured after my 6 month and 12 month post treatment check before I consider a glass of wine with my thanksgiving dinner.
I am wanting to be cautious - just to be sure I do not aggravate a good thing.
Maybe overly so, but, I do not want to have to do another treatment of any kind if I can avoid it.
Even if cured I feel the liver needs time to recoup and heal itself from past damage.
