Hi FllazyLady,       I also wondered about the optimal time for dosing. There doesn't seem to be any definite guidelines so I personally decided to dose 9:30 am w/brkfst. I chose this time because I wanted to be active so the meds would dissolve and circulate in my system. I drank a 16oz wtr first thing in morning, then later after brkfst w/meds another 12 - 16oz of water. Then off to work. I did get small bouts of tiredness (yawning) later in afternoon but so be it. Some choose to dose later evening because the meds make them sleepy. What works for one may not work for another. I think the important thing is enogh water and consistent dosing time everyday. I am treating with S/O. I usually have oatmeal, cinnamon, blubrys, soymlk, w/some form of protein. I finish treatment Nov. 10. UD at wk 4.
Hope this info is useful. Best of luck!

Thank you Brad for responding to my post. I will try the morning dose to see if it works best for me. I see that you put a lot of importance on drinking water. How long have you had the HepC virus and if you don't mind me asking what is your age. Have you had any side effects while taking this drug? I pray that you are cured..
Have a wonderful Sunday..
Thank you..

The best time to take Harvoni is the time you can remember best to take it.
Some people prefer first thing in AM or at bedtime...pick your time. For me, that was with breakfast since I ate breakfast at the same place and time and could leave the pill bottle in a visible place.

My pharmacy suggested taking Harvoni at the same time each day whenever my stomach would be the most acidic. They said it seems to work better in an acidic environment. For me this is in the morning just after coffee and juice.

It's not that it seems to work better with normal stomach acid, it requires normal levels of stomach acid to work properly.

Majorchas, thanks for the reply. Looking at it from this perspective makes a difference since I am also on proton pump inhibitors.

You can call Gilead support path and talk to a nurse (for free) and they will be happy to answer any and all questions for folks who are taking Harvoni.
