Good Morning and Thank You
« on: January 03, 2015, 10:17:33 am »
I had a blood transfusion in 1980 and at that time I was concerned about HIV so I was getting tested every year for that.  It wasn't until a cousin passed that I became aware of Hep C.  Every year I get a physical and nothing never showed up. I requested the test and tested positive in 2012.  My levels were 2,269,540.  I began researching and visited at least 3 doctors. In 2013 my levels had raised to 3,909,882, liver test came back normal, fibrospectII was F0-F1 <9 and sonagram impression was normal liver. In 2014 I attempted to go for clinical trails but was unable to find any to join. I continued to monitor my health.  I heard about Havoni in October and decided yesterday to go for treatment.  My insurance will cover it and I will start as soon as possible for 8 weeks. I am praying that this new medicine will cure us all.

Hi Deedee,

Welcome and congratulations on your Harvoni approval! I have been on Harvoni for 4-1/2 weeks now and it's been great. I have no major complaints and am almost starting to have human days again, kind of a miracle if you ask me!

Let us know how you are doing and it's really really great news that you are still below F2 and getting approved!

If you don't mind my asking, who is your insurance Company? It's amazing you were approved so quickly!

It took me a minute to respond, but I got it now.

Thanks Mike I am happy to find a support forum.

I failed to mention that I am 1B and my levels were 2,017,239 in 2014

Mel I am happy to read that the Harvoni treatment is working for you. I waited a while before I decided.  I have my diary ready to record everything.  I was told today that the team will come out and bring it as soon as it come in.  Praying that it will cure us.
