Lucinda,

I have also poured water into me since I started with the S/0 and then Harvoni at the recommendation of the IDhero. It was tough to begin with but now it's just normal for me to always have water around to drink. If I even feel the slightest bit of a headache coming I immediately down 2-16 ounce bottles (room temp works best for this),  This knocks it right back. I only get them now if I haven't had enough water the evening before.

I have found certain water to be easier for me to chug down than others.  I go for straight spring water, no dansani or any of the other ones that have the additives. I also refill my bottles with my Brita pitcher water. NJ tap water is treated and I prefer a clean spring water.

I can't say I drink 1/2 my body weight in water but I can say I drink water all day. I try to make sure at least 4 or 5 times a day to just grab a 16 ounce bottle and drink it. I always drink a full bottle with the Harvoni in the morning and normally have one full bottle before I even take it.

Increased sense of well being? Well I think that has to do more with being UD than the water. My body isn't in the all out battle it was when I started treatment so that has to have some impact on how I am feeling.

Lucinda,
I had a kidney removed 12 years ago and was on red alert about living well with only one kidney.  The secret was limited meds, Tylenol or ibuprofen and at least 2 liters of water throughout the day.  I don't "guess" at how much water I drink - I measure it all day.  I use a 1/2 liter bottle. When I drink 4 of them, I know I'm good to go.

Most people 'think' they drink enough water, when in fact they don't... you'll hear them talk about drinking several glasses a day - but they rarely remember 'how many' and never know 'how large' the glass is.  When I began this new way of water consumption, I actually used the hash mark system - to keep track.  Now I just remember how many of my required 4 I've consumed.

Those who work manually, must drink even more -"while they are working", as they sweat a lot (even if they don't think they sweat - they do).

The 1/2 your body weight is great - taken throughout the day.  If one was to drink a gallon all at once though, they risk blowing out their kidney(s)!

BTW, I have experienced a few, very light 'tension' headaches with Harvoni over the last weeks. Not full blown headaches. I don't know how bad other people's Harvoni headaches are, but mine are so light I almost don't feel them. They go way quickly with a little more water.

I weigh 160 lbs and  try and drink about 60 ozs/day, usually in conjunction with my gym workouts..  As it is, even this much water has me peeing all the time. If I were to drink the quantities being talked about here, Id never be able to leave the house!
