what is pcr test and hcvrtp test

I go for blood work today n on my paperwork it has these tests to be done what do they mean?

The PCR is a viral load - it measures how much hepatitis C you have in your blood. It is usually a high # and the results don't correlate with anything. You can have extremely high or low results, but it doesn't mean a thing. I don't know what the hcvrtp test is.

Thank you I will look up the other test on net I'm lost with everything I just know they took a lot of blood today :-[

Just thinking they also may have also done a CBC, BMP or CMP, and LFT (complete blood count, either a basic metabolic panel or complete metabolic panel, and liver function test)

Thanks good to know I did look it up under Hershey medical center which is where I go for my GI Dr  boy they don't make it easy to understand

I found the answer to HCVRTP - it is RealTime PCR test for viral load. I trust the source.
