Sarting with Harvoni
« on: March 18, 2015, 02:19:42 pm »
My name is Israel.  I was diagnosed with Hep C, Genotype 1 a little over 2 years ago.  I didn't start treatment then because of the side effects and success rate of the drugs in place at that time.  So my doctor and I decided to hold off because of some new treatments that were on the horizon.  A year ago Sovaldi came out but we decided to wait because Harvoni was under development and was promising.  In December 2014 Harvoni became available and in  Mar of this year I decided to bite the bullet.  I started taking Harvoni on 13 Mar 2015 and as of today I was absolutely no side effects at all!  I'm 61 years old and my viral load is 1.6 million with an F-2 liver.  I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal and my copay was $35.00 for a 28-day supply. I did not experience any difficulty to get the meds and I'm authorized 2 more refills, if necessary.  I will share additional information as I move forward in my recovery.  God bless to all!

Hi Naïve - I'm taking Harvoni for 4 weeks and depending on progress (or lack thereof) I'll go into 8 weeks.  I'm scheduled for lab work during the week of 6 Apr.  Where I go from there depends on the results.  Are you in a similar situation?

Hi Naïve,

Looks like we're on the same train (you're a few cars ahead of me).  Hope all continues well.  I've had zero side effects thus far, I hope you've ok as well.  I'll keep in touch (if you don't mind) it gets lonely sometimes, if you know what  mean.  Good luck and God bless.
