I think it's fine to post links here as long as it's not flogging a product. People post other types of links all the time. You just can't post a link to your secret magical herbal supplement for $49.95. That sort of thing.

Hi DM,

you said "Glad you liked it!  Riba makes me do stupid stuff.  Hopefully will start feeling more normal :P now."

I think you are normal now. You have found your inner child again. You are having fun and celebrating life. You're also a man, and sine time began your gender has had a fascination with fire. I have a son who when 3 yo, burnt his bed! I know you guys love fire. We are not allowed near the BBQ fire either, it's the male domain. I rest my case. You are NORMAL! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) Cal

thanks Marianne!  Guess the most important countdown begins today.  I get blood drawn a week from tuesday so should have a new vl result in a week and half.
Glad my doc is old school , cause he's always doing vl tests.  Have a feeling thats not going to last once the insurance companies start griping about it.  So far, mine has said nothing...knock on wood.

Hey DM... I feel excited to be done and already and already watching my monkey mind play tricks.  I went to get blood work this morning, he said anytime within one week EOT... and of course, I had to go at the earliest moment since the only VL I got was at 4 weeks.  Rude nurse, bruised hand, I almost cried afterward.  I'll write more about it my my EOT Strong and Positive thread (I'm trying, I really am).  So lucky I didn't have riba to deal with.

Hey, what if you did a countup now instead of a countdown?  I have an idea on my new tread.... I might take a day to two to go on post.... dunno what I'm doing at the moment!  Anyway, here's to us and those coming up the ranks!!!  Job well done!

Yes, drawing blood... I knew it was not a good place to go... I told her to use a warmer on my arm... she ignored me.

Haven't started new thread yet... going to call it "Making the Most of Post Treatment"
Or MMPT for short. ha!

Wow,  I've never had em use my hand.  They always use my arm.  And sometimes I bruise bad, esp at the docs office... at the lab where they draw blood for vl test they are very good and rarely leave a bruise.
I think I read somewhere that bruising easily is a symptom of a damaged liver..... but ,... they are also screwing up when they bruise you.  The good ones don't bruise.  I always want to tell them what they are doing wrong... but never do.  Nurses and docs hate to be corrected.  As George Costanza sarcastically says " they are delicate geniuses"

I use to almost pass out, and have had to lay down on occasion....but now , it doesn't even phase me.

Can't find link.  Am I challenged or what?

Ok.  Reposting.
Will only leave up for a while.  Be sure your volume is turned down.
Youtube is already on to me that this uses copyrighted material.... (that was fast!)  They must have a program that listens (like Shazam) and identifies the song.

At the cost of viekira there must be about 500 dollars worth of empty boxes in flames!

Hey Bree, you feel any different???  I don't have my riba hyper phase today... and I don't miss it a bit.
dm

My riba hyper phase had become more of a riba psychotic rage phase by the end, and I didn't miss that bit a either once treatment ended. Haha! ;)

It's funny.  The boxes won't even burn!  You had fancy boxes.... Harvoni is in the plainest, simplest bottle you can imagine.  For the price, I thought it would be a beautifully packaged bottle.  They didn't put their money into packaging for sure.
I guess it's what's inside that counts.  You burned yours, I kissed mine.  ha.

I got the riba rage when I had to do it with interferon....so I was really nervous about the riba.

I even got kicked off a couple of forums....I was out of control.   And had to force myself to keep my mouth shut around family and friends.  Should of done the same on the forums.  Does anyone remember the forum that had the "Dungeon" where you went to vent and rant??  It was a scary place. :o

Congrats to all who recently finished and all who are about to finish.

Today is the 44th anniversary of the surgery that gave me Hep C. 09/29/71 happened to be the Jewish Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) that year. Although neither the surgeon nor I were Jewish, AFAIK he got off scot free, but I've been atoning for I-don't-know-what ever since (or at least until Harvoni finished off the Hep C, sometime between 6 a.m. this July 9 and the labs 4 weeks later).

Two pills to go: 6 a.m. today and tomorrow. Looking forward to a later alarm on Thursday.

Thanks, Cal. But I didn't know I had it for nearly 31 of the 44 years. How about you? Wasn't 37 years ago still before Hep C had a name (other than non-A, non-B)? I thought 1992 was when they figured out how to keep it out of the blood supply.

Thanks, Bree. Maybe I'm too used to taking other meds (e.g., blood thinner for >15 years) to feel anything other than glad I can set a later alarm.

Either 1991 or 1992 was when they started testing for it in the blood banks here in Australia. I thought it was named C in 1988 or 89. Lucinda wrote a blog post about the history of it - I'm sure the info is there.

Reading this thread had me laughing and cheering! Optimism running rampant!  So happy for all of you reaching EOT !  I am 2 months on the other side - vpak and riba for 12 weeks- and feeling better every day.
I was undetected since week 4 and EOT - 4 weeks post EOT, still undetected. Waiting now for 12 week svr, which will be done first week in November.
Let's get this EOT party started! Let's also continue to encourage those that come after us and learn from those that have gone before us.
Cheers to you all!

Tommy, I am going to assume you are in the USA since your gonna have a gator burger,,,,,I think for many of us the adjustment of not having hep c anymore will take some getting used to. Now I am gonna have to cope with the fact that I am just getting old,,,,LOL...that's ok though, at least now I feel like I am gonna have a shot of reaching retirement age, honestly I didn't think that was really going to be an option. 19 more days for me....my next journey is to kick the smoking,,

. . . Funny , I never needed an alarm! My inner alarm woke Me up at 6:15 AM every Morning for My pill! How the hell am I going to turn that one off? . . .
Would you believe after I went back to sleep this morning, I DREAMT I heard the alarm going off -- same rattly pitch and two beeps per second! I leapt out of bed to turn it off (bumping Spouse in the process) only to see that it was only 5:35.

Enjoy your virtual beer in honor of everyone on this thread. Three cheers for our future retirements!

Strange how the human mind & body work! It will never cease to amaze Me.
Scout , You are correct. Cal requested one for the virtual EOT BarBque and beer bash. I have 7 lovely little diamonds left in My bottle. I can relate to the getting old. But, with a new lease on life , I prefer to think of it as going green and getting re-cycled.
NewmeBree, How's it feel to be on the other side??? You & Drummerman coping with the new found freedom?
DearPrudence, congrats to You! Glad You are doing well. Would You prefer a virtual gator burger or virtual BBQ with Your Virtual beer.

BTW , DON'T WORRY GUYS , I HAVE PLENTY OF VIRTUAL MONEY TO BLOW!!

Hi Gnatty and Philly,
It was 38 years ago to be precise and I was diagnosed 32 years ago with non A non B hep and told forget about it it's a good prognosis like hep A. 22 years ago I was dxd with hep c  when I was just trying to fall pregnant. Thats a whole other horror story. Cal :)

Hi Yall... time for my daily forum dose!  The only medicine I need!  It was so strange... it was 9:34 when I noticed the time last night... 34 minutes past my pill time and I realized how quickly I will adapt.  Slept pretty well too.

Slats, thanks for asking...feels very good to be on the other side... just to invite me to appreciate it more, I came down with a bug right at the end.  Are you kidding me?  But, that's o.k., because I know what I know and I know that I'll soon have a life I have never known.  Got my blood work (except VL not in yet) all normal, LFT's normal, platelets a little low (always that way) but other than that, good to go.

As I say... normal is the setting on a dryer! HA!  Stoked anyway... Bree

Go Beto Go!! Time is drawing near! Happy for You! Can I get a HELL YEA! Good Labs.
Hey DM how's it going? Seems kinda quiet without all the Riba Yackety Yack! To bad the packing probably contained harsh chemicals , or You could have roasted some marshmallows real quick!
Scout, what's the game plan on quitting the Cigs. for You? I am down to a pack a week or so. Except when anxiety & stress levels rise. Not an excuse , but when I get the headaches it seems help them a little! Every time I get down to the wire as far as quitting , the crap seems to hit the fan and of to the races again!

I got a book that several friends used, it's a small book but for 45 days it walks you through breaking your habits while you still smoke. For instance waiting 10 min to smoke your cig. But if you forget and later you want to smoke you have to wait 10 min to smoke. It has you do that sorta thing, so that when the quit date finally arrives you don't have to go on Lithium for the stress. LOL...I know several people who have actually quit with this little book. I will get the name of it, it's at the public library. I am not at home right now. Boy, I wish I only smoked a pack a week. Your doing real good

I will be done taking Harvoni Oct 18, that's why I picked Nov 1 to start my quitting smoking.  But there really are very few things that you shouldn't take while on Harvoni,,,like antacids and herbal stuff. Woo woo almost done!!
