Finished 8 weeks of Harvoni 2 days ago
« on: April 11, 2015, 08:20:34 am »
Hey everybody whats happening? I hope all is going well. I just finished an 8 week treatment of Harvoni 2 days ago. I was treatment naive. 1.6 million viral load when I started. I was likely infected during the 90's. I was undetected at 4 weeks. I go back to Dr next week to have more labs done so yall pray for me that the virus is still undetected ok. Thanks. This entire process has been a roller coaster. I found out a few years ago I had the disease, i thought the worst. I felt my life was over. I was so afraid, dr told me new drugs were in process that didnt have bad side effects and that had tremendous success rates, so I waited to get treated. Dr wanted to start me on sovaldi and olysio but insurance denied it. Insurance wanted to have me put on less expensive treatment first, the one with bad side effects, etc... but since I suffer from depression and had shot myself in the past that wasnt really a choice, so after Dr submitted Another appeal letter it was finally approved. On Sovaldi treatment I didnt really experience any side effects. I was tired every now and again but ive been tired for years so that was nothing. About 6 weeks into treatment my energy returned. I feel great. I remain optimistic my future and hopefully I will here the word cured sometime soon If thats Gods plan for my life. I just wanted to tell yall that I appreciate the support and encouragement you all give on this forum. I kept the disease a secret because of the stigma, but im beginning to talk more about it with people outside these forums. Thanks again everyone. May God bless all of you and give us the cure we desperately seek.
