Missing Harvoni Pill ???

Hello... I need to discuss an issue I experienced and hopefully get some advise on what to do.  I take my Harvoni pill every evening at 10:00 pm.  Last evening I was busy emailing family, had my bottle of Harvoni and water right beside me.  My husband reminded me to take my pill at 10:00.  I was so busy and looked up at 10:30 and realized I could not remember if I took my pill or not.  Stupid, I know... I am so angry at myself.  So I counted the number of pills I have left in the bottle and it appears that I did take my Harvoni pill.  But, I can honestly say that I do not remember opening the bottle, getting a pill out, and taking the pill.  I looked everywhere to see if I actually took the pill out, set it down, and left it somewhere.  I could not find the pill anywhere.  I will take my last pill on 5/13/15 and finish 6 months of treatment, so I don't have many pills left.  My labs show that I am clear at this point.  My question.  Would it even be possible that the pharmacy put 27 pills in the bottle, not 28?  I would like to think that the pharmacy would be accurate since these pills are so expensive.  And... do I need to explain this to my doctor to see if he thinks I should take one extra pill.  Not sure where I would get it.  I am just so afraid that I could possibly hurt my clear status if..if... I missed a pill.  I am so angry and upset that I could do something like this.  I just got so caught up in the moment and didn't pay attention I guess.  Any suggestions?  Thanks... Sohopeful.

You took your pill I am sure of it. We get into routines and don't consciously notice what we do and don't file it away in our permanent memory.
 
I did the very same thing one night with my ribavirin and had to count the whole bottle and kept losing track of my count! Probably recounted three times. That  might be my OCD kicking in too.

If you are really stressing tell your doctor and see if you can get one more pill prescribed. If not, no worries because one pill will not make or break your treatment outcome.

I seriously doubt the bottle had 27 pills. Just go back to the date you started and count the days. That should be fairly simple. Even if 1 day is missed it probably won't make a difference. Don't stress over it.

I'm with sapphire101. You probably took it and don't remember. I've done it a couple times already and did the same thing as you. Counted the pills. I also doubt there was only 27 pills. You're just in a routine now and take it without realizes you did. I think if the number of pills jive up with the number of days since you started, you're Good!.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  I called the doctor today and he told me the same thing, that I probably took the pill and did not even realize it.  He said that it is highly unlikely that I received only 27 pills instead of 28.  Since I'm undetected (keeping my fingers crossed), he said no reason to take an extra pill.  Whew, I do feel better I must say.  With only a few weeks left of treatment, I was just sick about this.  But all is good now.  Thanks again for all of your encouragement.

I couldn't remember if I took a pill one day. I counted the bottle I had. So just to be sure I got a little pill box Sunday - Saturday... Now I know for sure. Really bothers you to think you may have missed taking your pill. The pill box was worth the 99 cents I spent on it.
