Harvani for 24 weeks is almost over
« on: April 27, 2015, 10:57:13 pm »
Geno 1 ..mild cirrhosis
Been on Harvani for 22 weeks.
Had labs at 1 month and was undetectable. Just had labs at 5 months and I'm still undetectable.
Have had hardly any side effects thru out. Will have more labs done in 6 months and the doctor says if it is still undetectable at that time then I'm cured. Wishing each and everyone the same success.
God bless !!

Thank you and best of luck to you. It's another 6 months of worrying some what, but at least I have a shot at a SVR as we speak. Thanks again

Hi and welcome to the forum

After 23 weeks of treatment I have 7 Harvoni to go

Most are testing at 12 weeks post and some at 4 weeks as 4 weeks is a like a 98% probability of SVR. Twelve weeks post treatment many doctors are now calling cured.

Some doctors are going old school based on the old treatment protocols and waiting to declare cured at 24 weeks post but there is a very low possibility of relapse after 12 weeks.

I would ask my doctor if you could test at 12 weeks and if then a final check at 24 weeks. That is what most here are doing.

Good luck may you be SVR forever

Thanks Lynn. I will do just that. 6 months seemed a little long to me as well. I have the order for labs so I think I'll get blood work done at 12 weeks and then call them. I also have a Ultra Sound scheduled in the next month so I'll verify it and confirm it with them then. Thanks again for all you do on here !
