Just completed 12 weeks Harvoni

Just completed 12 weeks of Harvoni. At 3 weeks I went for blood work and was told the virus was so low it was almost undetectable. When I completed the 12 weeks, I was told to wait 12 weeks for my next blood work or they could do one now and the next at 12 weeks. I had to know where I was at so I had the blood work done. My test came back at below a 15? Basically undetectable? My doctor said he was not concerned and the true test of whether I was cured was testing it 12 weeks after therapy was completed. I feel good about it but yet I don't, has anyone had this similar situation?

Congratulations on your eot ! Quite a few people had the same experience as you and they went on to be undetected 12 weeks after treatment so your situation is not uncommon. Have a look around the forums and you will find quite a few.

Thanks, I will. I previously failed treatment with interferon many moons ago, so I was very optimistic when It was recommended I try Harvoni.

Hi Tony

Like you I to failed treatment before. Three times. I think what you're feeling is normal under the circumstances. Even though the odds are in our favor, how can anyone not feel a certain amount of anxiousness knowing there's a slight possibility of the virus returning. To me, it's sort of like playing Black Jack. I get dealt a 20 and the dealer deals himself an 11 and has to take the hit. Is he going to pull a face card???   :o  Not a good analogy but still an anxious feeling.

dragonslayer I think was the first who had this occur you could look for his posts. He was slightly detected at EOT and we all feared the worst for him but at his 12 week post he was not detected. This has happened to several others as well.

Congrats on SVR,  completed 12 weeks Harvoni and Ribivirin.  Not detected at 4,8, and 12.  Now waiting for 12 more weeks for the final test. One issue I have had is this chronic cough that developed in week 8 just took the chest x-ray yesterday.
