On treatment HCV Harvoni in the Netherlands, day 8
« on: November 10, 2015, 01:57:42 pm »
Hallo,
It is so nice that I had found this forum . I life in the Netherlands and in this country is Harvoni treatmant available since 1 november 2015. So there is little information from other people.
Ik was diagnosted in 2001 and problably got the virus in the 80's, I don't know.
For me it was a mental burden, a lot of guilt feeling from maybe bad decisions in the past. I am soooo glad that now there is a treatment to become healthy!!!!!
Ik was never treated because I had no no cirroses.
I didn't know my virus load till yesterday when Insaw my docter. It was 5,5 miljon.
My alt became now 45 it was 145  before treatment.
I suffer from site effects,  not sleeping en my heart is beating very fast during the night and I have headaches every day.,and a bad taste in my mouth.
Because I slept so very bad I got zoplicone from the docter and last night was the first night I slept well. Are there other people who take medicine for better sleeping?
I am working and I hope te stay working this 8 weeks (now 7 weeks)
The Harvoni makes me feel like I am full of adrenaline or speed. My bloodpressure was raised also.
This medicine is very expensive though the inssurance pays it (16000 euro for 28 days) what makes it is difficult for me to complain about the site effects  .
Reading all the positive results here makes it so much better te deal with, thank you all!!!!!
My docter expects that I have a 8 week treatment, so that will be so unbeleavable, I still cannot believe that this is really happening to me : )))
Thank you that I can join this group and wishing you all the best from Holland!
Madelief
Now I realise that it must be night time in Amerika ; ))) here is is 20.13 pm.

Hallo en welkom Madelief,
Maak je geen zorgen hoe u got it. Denk na over de remedie. Ik ben op Viekira zodat zal ik anderen praten over de bijwerkingen. Drankje veel  voor de hoofdpijn. U zal boete doen.Succes

Ik hoop dat dat klopt. Ik spreken Duits als mijn tweede taal. :)

I have spent many times in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.I go back next year.

Welcome Madelief. Your English is way better than my Dutch and Bill is much better than me with his language skills. I am inarticulate in at least three languages: French, Spanish and Japanese.

I live in Australia. There are a scattering of people from all over the world here but it's mainly US based.

All the best for your treatment. Some people are experiencing side effects to a greater or lesser degree, but it all becomes worth it if you are cured.

My mother was German Philadelphia.I've spent a lot of time in Europe.I don't speak Spanish or French, and Japanese would probably kill me.lol I do understand more than I speak in several languages though. How did Paul Kelly put it...and I can order sandwiches in seven different languages... 8)

Madelief, many people on various threads of these forums have mentioned taking medication for better sleep. It is good that you asked your doctor for your prescription. You could also ask your doctor how to adjust the time of day when you take your pill so that the speeded-up sensation does not affect your sleep as much.
Please drink much water. Many forum members have reported that their headaches are less severe if they drink enough liquids.
Is your doctor monitoring your higher blood pressure?
I am glad you are already seeing a positive result (your lower ALT).

Welcome Madelief!  :)

I hope you are drinking lots and lots of water.  That will help so much with the headaches.  Also, I take Harvoni in the morning and do find that it is very energizing.  It always surprises me when I hear forum member say that they take it at night - I would never be able to sleep!  What time do you take your medication?

Anyway, wonderful results in your lab work!!!  Congratulations.  It sounds like Harvoni is doing it's job well for you.

Else, thank you for your reaction! How is your sleeping?
I take my pill about 8 o clock in the morning. So with you it is the same with the energy ; ). I try to drink as much water as possible and I am not drinking any alcohol. Are there people who do on a special occasion?
Tonight we have a diner from my work so it would be nice to have 1 glass of wine in stead of being so speedy during diner

No problem with sleeping.  I had a few weeks of waking up at 4am for no good reason but it was easy enough to get back to sleep.

Regarding the wine, I suppose that's a personal judgement call.  While on treatment I've avoided any supplement or avoidable medication just to be on the safe side.  This medication is so new, I'm not sure anyone knows for certain how different substances effect its efficacy.
