The only thing I see is if you have liver disease

http://www.drugs.com/azithromycin.html

If you don't have liver damage being cured of hep c makes us like everyone else as far as I know. As you were F3 it could be a concern.

Does your prescribing physician know your medical history? They would be the best person to ask if the med is safe for you being F3

Good luck to you

Hey Trapper,

Just one month into EOT I had oral surgery and had to do a course of antibiotics.  Since then, I have had an undetected lab and a liver scan that indicated great improvement in my liver situation (which was F4).  All antibiotics are different of course and best to ask your doc and research a bit.

BTW, was your F3 diagnosed before treatment?  If so, you might want to ask your doc to set you up for a scan.  You just might find a reversed number.

I developed an extremely painful infected tooth a month into tx on harvoni.GI Dr said antibiotics are OK if necessary, but they would rather not have me get a tooth extraction until EOT so my immune system could focus on healing one thing at a time (my liver). I went on to achieve SVR12 despite the course of antibiotics!!!
