Nondetected Hallelujah
« on: February 20, 2016, 02:39:33 pm »
After my last viral load testing 6 weeks ago I was at VL 21, and I am happy to report I received notification from my GI physicians assistant that I am NOW NON-DETECTED. I have 6 more pills to go in my 12 week treatment.

I had a low viral load at 575,000 1a, no chirrosis, but at 4 weeks my viral load was still detected at 64, so feeling nervous whether I would clear the virus or not, but I have and I hope that it stays nondetected.

This forum is really a great place to share, learn, and receive encouragement.  Thank you all.

Thank you all!!!!

5 more days of harvoni, then I hope the sleepiness returns but from what I'm reading that may take a while, and I can certainly deal with that if I go on to be able to say I reached SVR (think that's the correct abbreviation)!when retested in the coming months after EOT.

So my positive spin on this-----if you have not achieved UD in four weeks (as it seems most do), please do not get discouraged, and keep pushing those pills down faithfully.   I was slow to clear, but it did happen prior to the end of my 12 week treatment (which was initially a 8 week treatment). And if you are on 8 weeks, and not yet cleared after (in my case at 6 weeks I was still at 21), push for 4 more weeks like I did.

My doctors even agreed, had to fight insurance but insurance did end up paying for it. My viral load was going down enough the doctors knew it was working. Sometimes the 8 week protocol may not be enough despite the numbers, etc.  If I had not pushed, I would have always wondered if 4 more weeks would have done it (and it did :)

Thanks again!!!
