I developed acid reflux during Harvoni treatment, and it continued for quite a while post-tx. I did not have it before treatment. The first episode was so incredibly bad, I thought I was having a heart attack and was preparing to drive myself to emergency. I am now 7 months post-tx and the acid reflux problem is almost gone.

good luck, suec! :)

I have had acid reflux and GERD for many years due to hiatial hernia. I don't really feel any different before, during or after treatment except relieved my hep c I carried for 37 years is gone.

Only side I had during my 24 weeks of Harvoni was a couple of mild headaches. I also developed some anemia from the Ribavirin I took for 15 of those weeks but that quickly resolved after I stopped taking it. I have no post treatment sides from any of my 5 treatments.

What does your gastroenterologist say about your reflux?

Good luck on treatment :)

Just a reminder that using antacids during treatment needs to be done very carefully and discussed with a doctor. I can fully understand why an increase in bile products might occur and cause some problems for those who have bile issues.
I do not think that Harvoni itself is causing issues with bile production cycles, the same as all of a sudden having a more robust and more touchy immune system post treatment which many here think might also occur.
Perhaps normalization of liver functions can cause issues in unexpected ways, the same way as stepping out of a 70 year old chevy pickup then driving a Ferrari can!  ;)  and it is the smilies that are causing the issues with the BB interface here at <size=78%> of the time!
