Hi Mary.wei,

As others have pointed out Beijing Mesochem can ship the correct drugs, hopefully they can sell to you in China.

But to treat hepatitis C you will need to know which genotype she has and how much her liver has been damaged to decide the best medication and length of treatment. The http://fixhepc.com/ site that lporterrn has linked can help explain how to get that information for you or your mother's doctor.

Yes, that is true. The made up pills just contain the raw materials plus fillers and binding agents. When many of us started treating last year it was difficult to get the pills so we bought the raw materials and put them in gelatin capsules. But that is also the cheapest way and close to you.
If you are not confident of doing that yourself then it is now possible to buy the professionally made up pills from manufacturers in India and Bangladesh, etc. The link that we supplied can explain to you who are the trusted suppliers in those areas but the medications will cost a bit more(roughly US$1,000-2,000 depending on type and brand). You can read a bit more on this site about it.

Hi Mary,
In order to properly treat your mother, she needs to see a doctor and get some tests done:
HCV Qualitative
HCV Quantitative
Liver fibrosis assessment
Virus genotype
Full comprehensive physical and blood tests.

This disease is easy to treat and cure, but you have to do it in a precise manner.
You really need to regisiter at FixHepC.com and ask your questions there in the New Member Intro topic. There are people from all over the world. The advice you need probably can be found there.
Your mother still needs those tests.
Anyone who offers to help you without asking about the test results is trying to steal your money.
See you at FixHepC.com!
Make a post in the new members area.
I will probably say hi by PM when you register.
I post there as Mgalbrai.

I am like you FT,
This all transcends politics and profit margin.
This is about the right to life, without mortgaging what remains of that life to some drug company that is more concerned with CEO bonuses than research and the common good.
Disgusting.

I learned that through the network, GILEAD ledipasvir and sofosbuvir can treat hepatitis c..

Hi Mary

Do you know your mothers genotype of hep c? Harvoni is only used to treat genotypes 1, 4, 5, & 6. If your mother has a different genotype Harvoni is not the correct medicine for her.

Also patients with hepatitis c often have no liver damage even after decades of infection. Only about 20% of people with hep c after being infected for 20 years develop liver cirrhosis. Even if they do develop liver damage or cirrhosis they still can live long lives. I probably had hep c for 37 years and have cirrhosis for 8 years now.

Does your mother have liver damage or liver cirrhosis? If she does not it is not urgent for her to be treated. Even if she does have liver damage while sooner is better than later she will still have time to find medicine.

Good luck to you both

The first thing you need to know is what drug you are looking for. Harvoni is not the correct medicine for all hepatitis c.

To know what is the right medicine for your mom you need to know her genotype and also should be good to know if her liver is ok right now. That will help to know how long she will need to take whatever is the correct medicine for her.

Is your mom ok right now or does she have symptoms of liver disease? Do you know her genotype?

We need to know this to help you know what medicine she will need to find.

Hi Mary,
That genotype is easy to treat.
If my mother was living in China and found she had HCV, genotype 1b, I would tell her to email Rachel at Mesochem and ask if she could buy 38 g of sofosbuvir and 8 g ledipasvir, because I don't know anything about buying and selling in China. If the answer was yes, I would have her buy the API powders and take them to a compounding pharmacy and have make daily doses of 400 mg sofosbuvir and 96 mg ledipasvir. Those are the correct prportions. My mom would need 96 mg of the ledipasvir API per dose to get the actual amount needed. If no pharmacy would help her, I would tell her to buy some electronic mg scales and 100 empty 00 gelatin capsules and a small funnel, preferably one made for the purpose of filling capsules. If my mother couldn't do that, I would probably go visit and do it for her.
Thats hiw I would deal with my mother's illness, knowing what I know now if she lived in China.
I really love my mother and wouldn't want her to be sick with HCV. I also wouldn't want her to take medications that might harm her because they are not real.
CM

Addition: Greg Jefferys is honest. So is Rachel at Mesochem. Greg has made a successful business out of helping people get HCV medications wherever they live. That seems to be his profession now. He is good at it. With me, it is just a pleasant hobby.
If you get Greg to help, he won't cheat or swindle you.
