First treatment:  Sovaldi/Ribavirin.   Failed treatment due to my own mess up.. Once i came up undetected I stopped taking the meds and the virus came back.
Second treatment:  Daklinza 60mg daily, Sovaldi 400mg daily, Ribavirin 1000mg daily
Length of treatment:  24 weeks

Update!  After a little more than one month virus is now undetectable.  Still no symptoms at all.  Going to talk to doc next visit to see about dropping Ribavirin completely so we can try to have a baby

Congrats on your undetected result, Axl86!! Don't be too quick to drop the ribavirin. You want to be sure the treatment works. Also remember, whenever you do stop the ribavirin, you will need to wait 6-7 months before conceiving a child. That is how long some traces of it remain in the body.

best,
kim

Thank you Kim!

And wouldn't a drop of over 5 million VL in a month indicate it's working? If you look at the guidelines for daklinza/Sovaldi it does say used with or without ribavirin.  Also I have read the claims of 6 months after for pregnancy,  I suspect this is just doctors being overly cautious, as the results I've read said that although it is pregnancy cat X, there is not significant evidence that paternal exposure will cause any defects.  Regardless I will wait the 6 months just to be safe, but I think these guidelines are a little exaggerated

Ok so my doctor was so pleased with my labs and the fact that I'm on triple therapy that they cut me down to 12 weeks.  They don't feel 24 is needed after all.  So this is my last month of meds
