EOT lab results from Harvoni
« on: May 18, 2016, 10:25:05 am »
Hi All
I just completed treatment with Harvoni in April 2016. Tested one week after completion of treatment. HCV still undetected but my ALT and AST's are a bit elevated. My Dr. told me not to worry about it, but of course I am. Anyone else have this experience? I am so worried that I may be the 2 percent that wont respond.

Hi Leslie,

I finished my 8 week harvoni treatment on May 9th.  My Alt and Ast were always in the mid 20's but they went down in the teens once on treatment.  But my 8 week test showed my alt I think was back in the 20's.  I don't think it means anything.  I noticed that a lot of people who post here have higher levels and they are svr.  It is easy to worry for sure.  I am noticing a decrease in energy, and just some other weird symptoms that of course put the thought in my head that it may be back.  But then I stop that and keep thinking positive, or in our case Negative thoughts!! Hang in there and good luck!  Brie
Diagnosed  HCV, 1A 2006
Viral load 6 million
Ast/Alt always in the 20's
F0-F1, never changed
Treatment naive, started 8 week Harvoni 3/15/16
4 and 8 week labs undetected
6 week eot labs undetected
13 week eot UNDETECTED!

Leslie, "a bit elevated" is not unusual. Look below and you'll see that my numbers did some jumping around, but I remained cured 24 weeks after I finished the Harvoni. People who relapsed saw huge increases.

Like Brie, I had a decrease in energy post-Tx. It also didn't mean anything.

Sending good thoughts,

Gnatty

Leslie, I'm right there with you, this is my first day w/o Harvoni.  I won't know my EOT lab results until later in the week or next week.  I think we just need to try very hard to try to get on with our lives again, as life is short. We will get SVR hopefully, but worrying about it isn't going to help with the next test.  Let's try to take a deep breath with we start to worry and focus on good, positive aspects of our lives -- we got thru HCV treatment, for one! I am so very happy it's completed! We need to try to be positive and focus on our lives again, if at all possible.  Wishing you the best in this "waiting" time ---- FT

Liver enzyme tests fluctuate probably hourly. Were they still in normal range?

If they get above normal range and especially if they get back to what they were before treatment that would have me raise an eyebrow. Otherwise just normal fluctuation

Congrats on finishing treatment and good luck
