Zepatier
« on: May 19, 2016, 06:17:11 am »
After being denied from our insurance company for Harvoni, my husband has now been approved Zepatier for his treatment. He had to take a resistance test to determine if he will need a 12 or 16 week treatment.( Still waiting for results) He is hopeful he will not have to take Ribavirin along with the Zepetier.

Just wondering if anyone has completed or are currently taking this medication?

Hi Mamamia,

I have a close friend who is about half way through her 12 weeks of Zepatier.  I thought it was great that they tested her for resistance and she is honestly having 0 side effects.  She feels great and is breezing through.   I think your Husband will do great on this drug too.  Best of luck!  Brie

Thank you Brie,

Nice to hear good news  about your friend. Does she have to take the ribavirin along with the Zepatier?

We are still waiting for insurance Company to give us the go ahead. His bloodwork indicates he is a good candidate for the Zepatier. Fingers crossed the insurance co. will come through soon.
Continued good luck to your friend,

Hi Mamamia,

Thankfully she did not need Ribavarin.  Good luck with getting the med!  I feel beyond confidant that she will be cured after her treatment and your Husband will be on his way very soon!! Brie
