New glasses after tx
« on: August 08, 2016, 05:08:25 pm »
I really need to get new glasses. I am 4 weeks after tx. Has anyone had their vision get worse on tx and after? Should I wait a few months or just go for it since I am really needing new ones now? My vision seems a little more blurry since tx but, I am 62 and seem to need a new script at least every 2 years.

Yea, me!  But I dont think its HCV or the treatment. Youre at the age where incipient cataracts often contribute to frequent prescription changes... Get them checked out at your next exam.

Thanks, I do already have a small amt of cataracts noticed at my last exam, my eye guy told me to stop looking in my kiln without eye protection when firing pottery! I always tried to remember to use protective gear but not all the time...

Several eye doctors have told me I have excellent vision. However 1-1/2 months into Hep C tx I developed floaters. My entire field of vision was peppered with tiny black spots. These floaters hung around for 41 days and were very noticeable during daylight hours. After the floaters went away, my vision developed nocturnal flashes.  The bright flashes occurred at night and at the corners of my eyes. I had to be walking for the flashes to occur. The flashes lasted for about two weeks. My vision is now back to normal....knock on wood.

My vision is blurry as well. I am halfway in my 12 weeks. I am 61 and my vision only required reading glasses. I'm not sure if this is the cause now

yip myfly
been wearing bifocals since age 45, you should get some glasses when you can. I am waiting on the financing to get new ones. Hence no ins. for the eyes.
