Thank you all.I'm pure and simply stunned.

Kim,We've seen a lot of great results around here.I never expected to be one of them if you want the truth. It really can happen and is happening.God and I have this agreement. She'll let me be happy now and then but never for long.I'm doomed!! :)

Thank you Ft.I'm not sure which test tells you more,or is more realistic in results. At least the Fibro's are non-invasive.I've never had a biopsy and from what I'm told I never want to.

I had the Dragon since 1973 Philly. When all of this first started I didn't know much as far as the health concerns and liver damage went with it.As I went along, and learned more,I couldn't beleive I wasn't damaged more than I was. That's why I'm shocked right now that things are going to normal for me so quickly.I thought I was damaged goods and was always going to be.Imagine that...I was wrong for the first time in my life. 8)

What I meant to say, and of course didn't, was "treat early before too much damage is evident". These DAAs have only been available a short time and for we old timers often the damage is done. But for those following us, the earlier you treat, the better your chance of a good recovery and great outcomes for your liver and your health in general.

Hi Bill,

That is amazing!  It still seems surreal that in just a few short years, we have these wonderful drugs that cure most of us and non invasive tests instead of the dreaded liver biopsies.  Brie

Congrats Bill, I am very happy for you.  It's quite an adjustment NOT having the virus anymore for some people. I know I was still hiding my toothbrushes and razors at my house for quite a while. It's almost like post stress syndrome. You have lived so long with this disease, you have to adjust to not having it anymore...but what a wonderful thing it is....Enjoy your cure and live on virus free!

Thanks Determined and thank you Scout,
Everybody was all smiles when they saw those results. As I've said they were curious to see how we were doing post treatment also.I forgot to ask how others were doing but I will.I did ask about having another scan done in a year and they told me to request it through my primary care doctor.Unless something goes off the rails I won't see her again until January which is perfect.I know not everyone will get the same results, but I hope mine will make others feel that what they go through during treatment is worth it.

Speaking of hide the razors Scout, has anyone heard from Cali?I hope she's doing better and wonder about her all the time.

Congratulations, that's fantastic news. It really is amazing, isn't it? It just boggles my mind to think that in just a few years, I went from wondering how long I was going to live to wondering what I'm going to do with all the wonderful healthy years that lie ahead of me.

I know, I'm probably overconfident because my 12-week post blood tests aren't for a week and a half, but... well, when you've been sick that long, you kind of develop a sense of what it feels lie - and when it doesn't feel like that anymore, you can't help noticing.

Hi Bill,

That is amazing as Baxter said!!  I had one biopsy and never wanted to repeat it.  I then had a fibroscan and couldn't believe this simple, painless test was available and you could have peace of mind that is was accurate!!  It seemed to all happen so fast and well we lucked out!!

Baxter,

Best of luck with your 12 week test.  Sending good thoughts your way!!  Brie
