Taking sleeping pills on treatment?
« on: September 11, 2016, 06:41:13 pm »
Hey all,
I just recently started Epclusa. I do have trouble sleeping and some nights I have to take benadryl or melatonin. The pharmacist told me melatonin is OK and I've read that benadryl is as well. I still am hesitant although I have to because I get up early for work. Did anyone else struggle with this? Thanks for your time!

Neither of those should interact with Epclusa. As for your reluctance, I certainly understand. I do think that sleep is important, and hope you sort this out.

Congratulations on starting treatment.  I have had insomnia for years.  Of course check with your doc but mine ok'd zzquil, (generic is cheaper - I like Walgreens) - Melatonin left me feeling hungover the next morning. Benadryl is not addictive so try it.  If you're still unable to get a quality-night's sleep, talk to your doctor.  Sleep is the most important recharge time for your body, mind and spirit.!
