Husband and I started Harvoni today!!!
« on: October 15, 2016, 04:37:53 pm »
We are in separate states this weekend so we FaceTimed this morning while taking our first tablet!! After 45 years of marriage this is hopefully just another hurdle to jump together. We toasted with our orange juice and said "cheers to the first day of the rest of our lives" Corny, right??!!!
It's  been a roller coaster over the past few weeks getting approval and  this forum has been very helpful, just wanted to login and say hello and thanks to those brave folks out here sharing their stories.

Ps-that was a pretty expensive breakfast this morning, LOL

Thank you Lynn
We didn't even know he was infected until I told our pcp to order bloodwork. We also thought since it took well over a month for my approval, I'd start first. His was approved in days!!!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!! We both did labs Monday after completing the first month of treatment and........drum roll please
NOT DETECTED ON EITHER!!!!!
My viral load starting was was about 3.5 million, his was 8.9 million
Ever so grateful, we have a ways to go, but this is absolutely incredible. While feeling elated (through my aching side effects) I feel disappointed that some people have to go through so much to get treatment, or none at all
But today I celebrate!!!

The day I had my first undetected pcr test is one that the flood of emotions imprints on the soul and psyche or spirit or whatever the heck it is we are. I share your joy.

Congrats on getting through the most important first step in slaying the dragon for good! And thanks for sharing the news.

Just wanted to share that I am finished with my 12 week treatment with Harvoni and just got my labs back.  Labs are all low normal and my VL is NON DETECTED!!  I did not expect to be so emotional when I received the non detected status, but it was pretty intense immotionally.  I had not been aware that I was holding all of that in.  Felt good to get it out and now be hepC free.  So blessed and thankful for this treatment that is so easy to take with so few side effects for most people.  I am still in disbelief...shock and awe rocking my world.  No more HepC.. CURED!  Thank you all for the support and information you've shared with me.  It helps so much being able to bounce things off people who are going through the same thing as you.  Lynn K, thanks.

My recommendation during treatment is to drink water, and then drink some more.  Just carry a water bottle around with you everywhere.  It really helped the headaches I had, made them go away. Now I wait for the next 12 week test to confirm all those little virus are still out of my system.  Hooray!  Love and light to all of you, hang in there, you are going to be cured to!  Namaste

Congrats on your results!! I finished Harvoni about 20 months ago, was undetectable at 12 weeks,  and just receive results that the virus is still undetectable.

35 years via blood transfusion 1980.  Interferon and Riboviron 48 weeks also peg and Riboviron 48 weeks...relapsed both times.  Harvoni was the cure and the regimen was much easier.

I wish you and your husband continued great results...truly is a miracle drug!!

 ;)
