Well i just swallowed my first Harvoni!!
I also just received my first of 3 vaccine shots for  A & B.
I was diagnosed on Sept 20th.
I saw my infectious disease Dr. on October 4th, & onemont later after so much anxiety, stress, fear, sadness & guilt im starting treatment, & I  cannot express my gratitude to my Dr. for the help & speed in which it all happened..
I honestly feel & told himi feel like my life is being given back to me..
I am also extremely grateful for those of you that took the time to make me feel better.
I am looking so forward to beating this & given my geno type 1b he says he is pretty certain it will be cured.
I will continur to pray & keep myself healthy.
Also when this is behind my, my rught hand to God i will make it a priority that i will reach out & help others in my exact position..
I will keep posting as time progresses..

It's a GREAT day, StillChoppin!!!!!  You are now on your journey to a life w/o HCV on the Harvoni Train.  Mine was a very enjoyable ride, flew by before I knew it and was much more smooth than I'd believed was possible. I hope your journey is the same.

Keep a positive attitude, drink a lot of water to keep dehydration at bay, and you will be on the other side --- the side of SVR --- very soon!

The future is bright, FT

StillChoppin, wsv3424, and andrew90, it looks like you've found your tribe. People who start treatment at about the same time form a special support group to cheer each other on and keep everyone upbeat. Best wishes to all three of you.

wsv, I've been cured for over a year now (after having had HCV since 1971). Post- treatment, it took my body a few months to readjust after decades of fatigue, joint pain, and dulled mental faculties, but in recent months my mind has been amazingly keen, the joint pains infrequent for a senior citizen, and my energy level more than I'd had during my forties and fifties. Although everybody is different in how they react during and after treatment, for most of us, it gives us our lives back to a significant degree. Plus, my hepatologist expects me to have a normal life span now. HTH. -Gnatty

Since ,its been downhill fast ,muscle wasting bigtime , leg,arm cramps , zero energy so my hopes are just to be able to have a life again w/my sons ,grankids cause currently even walking is a major deal, wow!

. . . cause currently even walking is a major deal . . . best of fortunes and God Bless
wsv, along with drinking enough fluids, I encourage you to walk at least a little more than you want to each day. I believe my extra walking during treatment was helpful.

If you look below at my signature file, you'll see that my ALT and AST enzymes (what your lab calls spoc and spog; I'm not sure whether ALT=spoc and AST=spog or the other way around) had gotten very high before treatment, but Harvoni brought them back down to normal when I was tested after just 4 weeks of treatment.

Every good wish,

Gnatty
