Viral Load after 4 weeks Viekira Pak + Riba
« on: November 07, 2016, 05:29:54 pm »
Hi

I am new to the forum... from Mexico so my english may not be the best....

I have been on viekira pak + riba for 6 weeks, my initial viral load was 2.6 million (6.42 log10) the latest count (4 week) was 162 (2.21 log) so I guess that means is not undetectable (the doctor is unavailable) so right now I am anxious... it should be undetectable for what he told me initially. Should I be worried?

Thanks
Jorge

Hi Jorge,

Lots of people have a bit left at 4 weeks.
It's the general trend / huge drop they're looking for at 4 weeks - so you're clearly on track.
The medicine is doing it's work!

Relax.
All is well.

What's the duration of your treatment?

Hi Napo, it's not unusual to be in your situation. I was still detected at 4 weeks, but not detected at 12 weeks after finishing treatment. That's the date that matters most. Stay strong!

Hi

Thank you, Im on a 12 week treatment, still havent heard from the doctor (which is not fun either)  but I am better now, I guess it was the anxiety of getting the results by email and not really knowing what it meant.

Thanks for the replies

Jorge

Jorge, welcome to the forum! I understand your concern, as I also was still detected at my 4 week labs and went on to SVR 12. But the drugs are working for you! I've read that it is preferable to see at least a 2 log decrease, and yours is a 4 log decrease, so you are on the right path! Hang in there, the real test is the one 12 weeks after your last dose.

Keep us posted, FT
