3 Week Lab Results
« on: November 21, 2016, 12:37:35 pm »
Hi all,

On 7/1 my viral load was almost 5 million and a FibroTest graded me as an F4/A3.  ALT 244/AST 115.  I started Harvoni on 10/21.  On my 11/11 labs I received a letter from my doctor that my "Viral Load is not detected".  Looking at their online results the value fields for the HCV RNA PCR QT & HCV RNA QT RT PCR just says "Abnormal".  My ALT & AST are now 21 each.

I won't see my doctor until 12/1 to hear these results officially but do you think this "Abnormal" label just means "Not Detected"?  Technically these were supposed to be my two week labs but I actually started the Harvoni a week earlier then the doctor thinks because I'm stubborn and impatient so these results are at 3 weeks.

No idea never heard of abnormal as a result on HCV RNA by PCR test. Probably would help if you could enter everything on the lab report verbatim.

But in any event on treatment test results mean little to nothing.

The only result that matters is the 12 week post treatment test to see if you are still undetected after treatment has ended.

Good luck to you

Good luck to you

Ive seen on my rna tests that any result other than 'undetected' shows up in the 'Abnormal Summary' at the bottom.

Thanks guys.  Like I said, I'll ask specifically when I see the doc next week but unfortunately I didn't get to see the actual results verbatim as I was only able to see the results that they did enter into the online practice management software.

The office's correspondence did say that I was undetected at this time so that is encouraging.
