Hepatitis from blood drop

Hi!

Little bit worrying that could I have been infected with hepatitis. I work as as and seller at supermarket and customer had wound in his finger. I noticed that next customer picked plastic bag which had blood on it and asked him to give it to me so I could but it away to trash bin. Well anyway I didn't noticed any blood on my hand but my skin is little dry and it some times cracks so that little wound appears, but this day or time I didn't have any cracks but on little scar on tip of my finger. I have read that even blood that you can't see can contaminate person I mean it like microscopic amount but it a little bit dry skin a high risk? Or small scar at tip of finger considered as an nonintact skin? I found dryed blood from my hand later, but it was clearly in spot where my skin was and is still contact. My 13week test results came couple of day go and HCV, HIV and hep B was negative. Still woring about this.

Only about 1.2% of people in the US have hep c so your odds of encountering someone with hep c are quite low.

Hep C requires blood to blood contact in other words hep C infected blood must enter the blood stream. This would require an open (wet/weeping) wound. A scar is not a wound.

Even in the case of a health care worker who experienced an accidental needle stick involving a patient with known hep c the odds of transmission are only about 1.8%.

Hepatitis c is not easily transmitted if it was many more people than 1.2% of the population would be infected.

What you have described is not a risk for infection by a blood borne virus.
