4 Days Into a 12 Week Harvoni Treatment
« on: January 23, 2017, 12:47:39 pm »

Well I consider myself very fortunate getting approved in like 2 hours from the specialty pharmacy put in the request. I first went through about 5 months of blood work.... Tox Screens....Elasticity Test.....and Fibrosure Test. It may have took longer cause I kept refusing a biopsy. Every time I would go back it was like what did you decide on the biopsy and I finally said look I'm not having a biopsy period.

Viral Load was 40,700 Iu/ml
Elasticity Test was inconclusive
Fibrosure Test showed F3

Its day 4 and virtually no side effects except a little when I get dehydrated and then drink a bottle of water and I'm fine. Hope it stays that way

hi everyone, I am a liver transplant patient with no cirrohsis. I have a low viral count. I also have stage 3 kidney disease. my doc wants to put me on harvoni for 24 weeks without the ribavirin because of my kidneys. insurance will only cover 12 weeks of treatment. now he wants me to take ribavirin with it. but, I do not want to take that chance. has anyone had 12 weeks of harvoni with no ribavirin after liver transplant?  If so , did it cure ?

Hi Iowafarm - and Welcome!

Just a thought -
You may want to start another thread (say - in the 'Considering Hep C Treatment' section).
... Your situation isn't that common, and you want to do everything you can to attract someone who can advise you.

Just an idea.

Maybe you want to just stay here for a while, and see if you get any replies?

Anyway - Good luck - and
Best wishes,
A.

Yes, Iowafarm - that looks good.

Sorry Mixer - this is your thread!

Sounds like you've made a good start.

Here's hoping your journey remains smooth and trouble free!

Best wishes,
A.
