Think it depends on geno type, how long you have hep c, liver function and mamy other things.  They ALL have very good success rates. I have 1b, good liver function, had it for 23 years....started viekira pak with ribavirin a week ago.
Whatever treatment your dr puts you on, go for it!
All of the treatments are 95% or over successful  :)

Hi Mimi,
I am also geno 1b, good liver functions, viral load over 6 mil,  have had Hep C for over 30 years. My doc is thinking of Harvoni without Ribavirin.
I wonder what was the deciding factor in your doc's decision ... were you offered Harvoni?

Thanks !

I asked for harvoni because i was afraid of the ribavirin but was denied. It all came down to the fact that in ireland the deal that was made with the pharmaceutical company.  Viekira pak was cheaper. Works just as well as harvoni for 1b.  I have to take it with ribavirin as i have had hep c for so long. If i had a bad liver ribavirin could be dangerous and i would have gotten harvoni.  Im starting week 2 of treatment and im doing much better than i thought on it. They really all have a good success rate.
