All clear

I'm in UK (Scotland) and wanted to post my post treatment results , it's been about 14 months since I first found out I had Hep c  to getting treatment to just getting my 3 months clear test - yay ! . I had a tenderness or slight pain which first led me to the doctors in the liver area . I've probably had it for 12 yrs without even knowing which I'm glad of kinda as only in recent years has good drugs and cures came about . I never suffered in any way I know and my liver is in perfect working order which I'm so glad for .

And I'm probably a little ungrateful when I say it was a little underwhelming when I got results . I wanted it to be this amazing moment when a huge pain or worry was suddenly lifted but didn't feel like that for me . It was like now it's done where is my next worry going to cone from . I'm so grateful I live where treatment is pretty fast and it's free , but it probably makes us ignorant lots of people are just not us lucky . My only problem is hoping the tender pains go away and hope I can get life insurance as I'm struggling to get it now I'm a home owner , thanks.

Stevie, it was underwhelming for me, also (too much competition from my other ailments), so instead of saying "congratulations -- you're cured!" I'll say "glad you got that out of the way."

-don't know what's possible in Scotland, but here, a person can sometimes get life insurance by belonging to a large social or professional organization that offers life insurance to its members for a set price. Because the organization has made a deal with the insurance company, the individual member does not have to undergo a health examination to qualify.

Hi Stevie,

Congrats on clearing!

I am about a year post-Tx.

I had tenderness in my liver area, and the odd stabbing pain, for years.
It arguably got worse during Tx.

Those probs have gradually dissipated away, and I haven't had anything like that for a few months now.

Hopefully it'll be the same for you!

Best wishes,
A.
