Coffee Enemas To Improve Elimination
« on: July 28, 2018, 04:46:12 pm »
At the risk of being ridiculed, I wasn't going to post a new post about this, but I took a CE (coffee enema) today and yesterday and I had a much more comfortable BM today, as Vosevi seems to dehydrate. I just called Gilead Support Path and they have no issues with me taking a few CEs on Tx.
CEs can be very helpful to improve liver and bowel function.

I've taken CEs off and on for years. I probably only need to take a couple of them per week to improve my bile flow & elimination. I also plan to eat more pineapple, papaya, okra, coconut, and maybe prunes or prune juice. With these foods I may not even need to resort to CEs any more but I think a few CEs here and there can be helpful.

Personally I think you get the same results from any enema

I think adequate fiber and hydration should normally be sufficient but what ever works for you and your doctor has no issues...

Weird.

TTYTT, I couldn't care less if you think it's weird or not.

Maybe someday you could put some of your personal treatment and/or liver health info into your signature like many of us have done.

Water enemas definitely do help. Coffee in an enema is absorbed into the portal vein and goes directly to the liver to stimulate the release of toxic bile, helping to create new, clean bile output.

I haven’t seen anything about that what would be the biological mechanism of action?

But in any event slow bowels are not really an issue for me

I did find this on Wikipedia I would use caution and consult with my doctor before continuing this practice.

“A coffee enema is the enema-related procedure of injecting coffee via the anus to cleanse the rectum and large intestines. There is no medical, scientific evidence to support any positive health claim for coffee enemas. The process can result in sepsis, severe electrolyte imbalance, colitis, proctocolitis, internal burning, rectal perforation, and even brain abscess or heart failure.”

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315663.php

“An article published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology detailed a case of inflammation of the colon and rectum from a Korean female who used coffee enemas.

The 60-year-old woman had used a traditional preparation of 2 tablespoons of roasted, ground coffee mixed with 1 liter of water. She cooled the water and used the mixture as an enema. After about 24 hours, she began to experience rectal bleeding and pain.

The authors pointed out that coffee enemas had also caused reported cases of death due to electrolyte imbalances as well as bacterial infection after frequent coffee enemas. They concluded by saying "Coffee enema has no proven benefit and carries considerable risk of provoking unwanted complications."

There is a lot of conflicting research regarding coffee enemas. As a result, doctors do not recommend them as an alternative method when preparing for a procedure. There are commercially prepared enemas that are available and much safer for bouts of occasional constipation.”

I could post links all day on the benefits of CEs. Sure, the medical people are going to write it off. They'd rather you make an appt and Rx pills that cost $100 each.

I really don't feel like debating this. I've been doing CEs for years with nothing but good results.  I'm going to leave it up to you to make up your own mind about CEs. I don't care if you think I'm weird. Feel free to think anything about me. It doesn't matter to me. I have no desire to talk anyone into thinking otherwise.
There is always the medical mainstream's POV, and the alternative therapist's POV. 9 times out of 10 I side with the alternative therapists course of action to prevent and reverse disease instead of going to an MD to get pills to suppress symptoms while rarely doing anything about the cause.

I don't care what doctors think of CEs. My doctor is a DO and I tell him all about the CEs I've done and he has nothing bad to say about any of it. I didn't just look at a negative article about CEs and run away from them, I tried them based on a lot of holistic people I know. I found out first hand.

Wikipedia is going to show the Big Pharma opinion first bc the USA is the greed capital of Planet Earth. Big Pharma probably owns Wiki. I learned not to take health info from big pharma websites about the same time I got online about 20 years ago.

Sure I totally understand that there’s a lot of opinion out there on the subject I just saw a couple of concerning things so I just wanted to be sure you are safe.

Best of luck to you as always :)

Thank you. :) You're a big help around here.

I used to do too many CEs. Now I do them but much less often. After I go off Vosevi I may not need them much anymore.
