on ZEPATIER ..my journey..
« on: September 10, 2019, 05:21:56 am »
my ZEPATIER experience

Background: Genotype 1A, infected circa 1999, diagnosed circa early 2000s. A 2006 Liver Biopsy revealed Grade 7 Stage 2 (2/6 ISHAK), Fibroscans 2016 circa 8KPA, previous treatments include Pegylated Interferon + Ribavirin in 2009 (responder/relapser after 48 weeks) and Abbvie3D (Paritaprevir/Ritonavir-Ombitasvir and Dasabuvir) + Ribavirin in 2016 and had to stop after 4 days due to extreme side effects = grey face, yellow eyes, felt like death warmed up and increased heart-rate (200BPM for 7 hours straight on one occasion). I don't have the numbers (but I will get them) but the nurse said my blood tests pre-treatment were good, I will always try to post with the monthly figures. This treatment is for 12 weeks.

I started Zepatier 150MG (50 mg Elbasvir + 100 mg Grazoprevir) yesterday (9,9,19), I took the dose immediately after my tea at 4pm with a Multivitamin and a Paracetamol as I heard headaches were very common so thought I would take a pain-killer upfront, I'm into my second day only and no major 'negative' side-effects yet other than a very very slight sensitivity to loud noises and cold...but that could just be me as I have crippling anxiety, some positive welcome side-effects which are I actually feel a bit perkier since about 1 hour in, its very strange it's like I feel in better stead and have a sense of well-being, my tinnitus has reduced in intensity by about 50%+ too (I recall this also happened in 2009 on INF+RIB).. I have read some reviews by others online and I have come across 2 others who had the same experience (feeling better rather than worse), most others that did get any sides did so after a few weeks.

I will be posting regularly on this thread so that others can see how it affected me, I pray to god its like this for the remainder because if so then I am laughing..

Not a lot of people here did Zepatier but many of us took Harvoni which has some similar ingredients. Many of us felt a sort of increased energy while on treatment we called it the “Harvoni high” so other than maybe a couple of mild headaches we actually felt better on treatment rather than worse.

Maybe it is because of having reducing viral load or an effect of the meds I can’t say but yeah for most treatment was easy and many felt better on treatment so rest easy and enjoy the ride to wellness.

DAY 4: Sides are here....  I woke with a raised heartbeat at 3am and rapid shivering, I managed to stop it by taking a paracetamol, drinking water and doing some controlled breath...also doubling up my quilt to heat me up.

I then awoke later than usual and had a bit of a bad gut but thats all... few hours later I went for a walk and 25 minutes in I felt weak, nauseated and dehydrated although I was well hydrated I just felt that way, so I slowly walked back home and felt ok when i got back, 30 minutes later after my tea I started to feel giddy again

so its definitely announced its arrival now, I hope it doesnt get worse because my anxiety is crippling
