Is it okay to switch entecavir brand ?
« on: February 01, 2020, 10:53:38 am »
Hi. I am really glad to find this forum. I am new here.
I have been taking entecavir. It's exactly this one.
https://www.nhathuochongnhung.vn/mua-thuoc-mizinvir-entecavir-0-5mg-dieu-tri-viem-gan-b-man-tinh-tot-nhat-o-tphcm-sai-gon#

But now I am out side of my home and should stay for few month here.
I can't find the same brand entecavir here. But I can find another brand entecavir.
The amount is same 0.5 mg as the one I am eating now.
Is it okay to switch taking it ?

Hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards.

I did find that Entecavir is the drug generic name it is sold in the US and other countries as Baraclude. I tried your link but it is in Vietnamese so I can’t read it. I did find one other trade name Entimate. But as long as the generic drug name is Entecavir it should be the same medicine but again you should confirm this with your pharmacist. We here are patients and are not medical professionals and cannot offer medical advice. All I know about Entecavir is what I can find on google.

Thanks for your help.
Yes. I am going to ask to pharmacist.
I think you can just use google translator easily :)
If it has the same amount of entecavir, it can be fine whatever brand I use.
Maybe, it's better to use a stable brand, I think.
But the condition around by me, because I can't get the same brand, I need to purchase another brand.
Thanks again.

Yeah when I googled Mizinvir every link seemed to be in Vietnamese so likely only marketed in that region using that trade name. But as long as the generic name is the same the drug is chemically the same just different manufactures
