Missing 7 days of medicine
« on: April 15, 2020, 04:04:31 pm »
So I just finished my first month of epclusa and am having problems with my insurance getting my refill, it will likely be close to 7 days before I get my medicine... Will I still be cure at the end of this?

While this is not optimal you would miss 7 days of meds these meds are highly effective at beating hep c

I would recommend you contact your doctor ASAP to let them know what is going on. Also lean hard on your insurance company ask them if they understand the risk of going without these meds that the treatment could potentially fail and then you would need to retreat possibly for a longer period because of their lack of not doing their job.

I have already reached out to my doctor and they are getting things done asap... My insurance, not to my surprise,  just doesn't seem to care... I feel they should have had all these authorizations in order or at least made me aware that I needed them when I requested the refill and not wait until the day after my medicine was supposed to be delivered... Its Very frustrating to say the least.

I had to fight with my insurance to get treatment. I talked to them on the phone asking with a angry tearful voice are they wanting me to die or need a liver transplant! Reminding them liver transplants cost them a lot of money plus a lifetime of anti rejection drugs. The sent me to a case manager who became my point of contact she made everything happen for me.

I had my meds the next day FedEx express delivery...

Give them hell don’t, take no for an answer

With that said, these meds are very good but if you can avoid this break in treatment that would be best

Seriously, get ahold of any one, be polite but emphatic make them listen
