I woke up with pain in my upper back, right side.
Did some stretching to alleviate it.
But I'm noticing regular chores are exhausting!
Walking, cycling, things that I usually do everyday, are so draining, since I've been off Harvoni.
Ugh.
How long will this last, any imput, please!

Pansy, I had some days of fatigue and exhaustion very soon after I finished treatment. I'm sure some of the difference was just the absence of the Harvoni High. You've also been tapering off prednisone, so being on Harvoni may have masked the fatigue you probably would have felt if you had tapered off prednisone without being on Harvoni.

Because I finished Harvoni 8 months ago, it's hard to recall the exact pattern, but after those first days of needing a lot of extra sleep, most of my days felt like normal energy (still considerably less energy than the Harvoni High had given me, but definitely more energy than before treatment). Probably everyone's experience is different, but I hope this helps.

Hi Patsy,

I also felt worse as soon as I stopped taking my Harvoni.  I felt fatigued and weak for a few weeks.  Not all the time but just didn't feel good.  I am feeling like myself the last few days so hoping it is all behind me!  Hope you feel better very soon.  I waited for 2 weeks before starting any supplements and adding my protein powder back in my smoothies.  Think that is helping too.  Brie

Hi Pansy, it sure is interesting how these DAAs affect each of us differently. My "Harvoni High" leveled off  in the second half of treatment; energy certainly was better but not like it was in the first 4 weeks. So, I'm feeling about like I've been feeling for the past 6 weeks,  overall pretty good, with some days more energetic than others.  I'm finding a good night's sleep plays a big role.

So, give it some time and hopefully this will be a short-lived phase. We are still learning how these very powerful drugs affect us.  I do hope you are feeling better very soon! Keep the faith, FT

Hi Gnatty, Brie41, and FutureThinker!

Thanks so much, for replies!

Gnatty, you know I never thought of that, it's true about the prednisone, 1mg every other day now, and I hope soon to get off it, entirely. I know others have said it is awful coming off it.
Harvoni has helped in more ways than one! ;)

Brie41, I stopped taking my calcium/mag/vitD during tx, I will start after my next dr appt. I'll see both my dr's on 5/30.
I take a once a week bone-strengthener as a side-drug with pred., so I didn't want to overtax the kidneys, while on tx.
I'll also start my full suppliments soon!  ;)

FutureThinker,
I think my "Harvoni High" was similar to yours, towards the last month and a half, I didn't feel anything...
The ear ringing has also lessened.
I am trying hard staying active, but wow, do I feel gravity!
I am napping more, which may help.
I rarely napped during tx, but now I feel a little sleepy in afternoon...

I really look forward to swimming outdoors!
It has always been the thing that makes me feel right.
I'll check back here after next dr. visit.

Thanks so much, for all your imput, it helps...

Hoping for all our best results!
Big hugs!

About a month or two ago I got slammed with physical aches. It was like I was sore to my very bones. I was stiff, getting up and down hurt, it was hard to exercise. The only thing that kept me sane was a Thai massage I had once a week.

I wondered if it was related to treatment as so many people were mentioning it, but it came months after the cessation of treatment- about 7 months - so I don't know. I'm 57 and I've knocked my body round with a range of physical sports and I've sustained numerous broken bones as a result, so I rather think time us catching up with me.

As I was off treatment I went back on chondroitin and glucosamine and now I feel normal again.

Hi Philly,

Thai massage sounds great, not available here, but there is shiatsu and acupuncture, which has always been a winner for me, when I needed pain relief, but didn't want to overload liver with pain meds...

I've used chondroitin and glucosamine once, while doing therapy /recuperating from a herniated disc in back...
Like an oil can for the tin man! :)

Glad it worked for you!

HI Patsy,

I hope everyday gets a little better, but sure are all of people feeling a wide range of symptoms after treatment.  Can't all be a coincidence.  Hopefully a small price to pay to finally be rid of this disease!  Enjoy that swim!!  Brie
