Day 2 Ribavirin and Sovaldi
« on: November 01, 2014, 11:39:19 am »
I'm still waiting for any adverse reactions but am happy to say none have occurred yet.  I should mention that I already take a regiment of scripts for a bipolar disorder which may be calming down my nerves.  If anything odd happens I will be sure to relate my story to anyone seeking information.

Hello Ryan,
I am glad that so far so good, but you need to realize that it takes about a week for your meds to reach therapeutic levels.

Hi Ryan,

I hope you continue to be symptom free but don't be naive like I was thinking that just cuz I felt fine the first week nothing else was going to happen. One thing I have learned among many others in my short time here is that our Veteran Forum Members know what they are talking about!

I'm on a 12 week plan, genotype 2.  Day 3, no changes yet.  I'd look into when they should begin but then I'd start psycho-symptomatically having them.  (is that the right word)?  I'm sure you'll follow

Hello Deck,
You could be one of many many people who don't have any problems while in treatment. Worrying about side effects that may or may not effect you will make you overly sensitive to the regular aches and pains that occur and have nothing to do with your treatment. Be sure to eat healthy and drink plenty of water.

Welcome--anther geno three--one of my own. same treatment 24 weeks---so what is your history?? We are all listening, nothing to hide here,--I'm on the downhill side--takes a while to get there---if you can find the time to read as many posts as you can in the next week or so---assimilate what advice you can and run with it--will be time well spent

Hi Ryan,

A lot of folks don't have major side effects, which is great.

Best wishes, Mike

Yes Mike that was the word I was looking for (haha)

On day four of treatment I've still been lucky to have no side effects.  For those facing riba rage my guess is that Ativan has prevented me from those feelings.  Today was the most productive day I've had in months, finished a grad school exam, sent back books, on my way to work.  I send my blessings to all going through this and will continue to update my physical emotional state if there are changes.

Good luck

I should mention that I have been drinking tons of water mixed with organic juices.  Maybe this helps also?

Deck,
Don't if you saw Lucinda's post & link: http://hepatitiscnewdrugs.blogspot.com/2011/01/grapefruit-juice-dangerous-medication.html

Just be safe with the juices.

Just relax and keep eating good and drinking water.  I have had no major sides, just itching after two weeks so you may want to lighten up on juices which are acidic and can aggravate itching. And no rage, but, the boohoos easily which did not appear until after 4 weeks.  I am on week 11 of 12 with Type 2 also.  As for headaches, not many, just a bit on and off so I am not always sure its from the meds or the weather - lol

I'm a week in now, very little side effects if any.  Definitely not as happy as I once was but this occurred months before treatment.  New job is stressing me out but I need cash to get back to Denver when this BS is finished.  Would much rather take time to breath and reflect. I guess overall this isn't so bad yet, just dealing w/ depression as always

Deck,
I am on week 22 of 24 and have not really had any terrible side effects.  Insomnia is the worst but Ambien every few days really helps.  A good night's sleep is the best medicine. The dull headaches lasted for a while but seem to have tapered off,  thank God. Lots of water everyday helps a lot. I was in good health before I started with no fibrosis so I think that makes a big difference.
Hope you will be lucky and will get through it unscathed and CURED. I was undetectable after 4 weeks. I'm very hopeful and almost finished!
