Anyone have issues with legs aching? UGH!
« on: November 24, 2014, 09:12:19 pm »
Hi All,

Tonight my legs are achy so bad, not sure why. Maybe it's the weather? Maybe I am getting old. I didn't have this issue before I started treatment so not sure if it's the S/O battle or the Cirrhosis. It seems like the cirrhosis has flared so much since I got  treatment but that could be because the medications are so strong and my liver is working harder than ever, not sure but want the aching to stop. No supposed to take hot showers or sit in a hot tub because of the itching so just being miserable. Thanks for letting me whine (again)

Hey!  I didn't have any problems before treatment. I am not cirrhotic. About 3 wks into treatment I started experiencing muscle pain in my thighs and calfs. Also some minor joint aches. At about wk 6 or 7 it seemed to subside. Then at about wk 10 it returned to about the same level. Almost immediately after stopping meds at wk 12, it disappeared. Now - 2 wks post treatment I'm having some minor discomfort- thigh and joint pain. The weather has been very precipitous (is that a word?) here the past mth. so I'm thinking that's probably causing it. Be well all.

My legs ached during treatment especially my right leg.  I figured since I had some varicose veins that the meds were aggravating it.  I did find that during treatment I sat more at first and then when I made a point of walking around more even at home it really helped.  The leg issues were worse a month into treatment than got less and less.  If i sat too much, it did make it worse.  I am post treatment now and my leg will cramp every now and then yet.

Thanks everyone, I hate to share the pain but it sure helps to know I am not a complete anomaly! Some days I sure feel like I am.

Currently it's 4:30 in the morning, haven't slept at all but totally sick to my stomach over this mess in Ferguson (and across the US), just breaks my heart to see this happening. I respect the right for people to protest against something they don't agree with but I can't come to terms with the looting, fires and damage.

Life is just so precious and can be gone in an instant, I wish more people could understand that and fight for peace, harmony and medication for those who need it and can't get it!!!!

My right upper thigh has been painful especially at night. I may have hurt it at the gym. I am on week 15 of s/o. X-ray and vascular study are negative. Waiting for MRI. We tend to blame a lot of our issues on the meds!! It may or may not be. Larry

Honestly not blaming the Meds, I'm blaming my buddy Cirrhosis :(

Just want to get this virus out of me so I can start the next chapter.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,

Yes, Battle the Beast,

My hips and knees ache pretty badly at some point in every day.  We've talked before I'm geno 2 riba/solvaldi combo. Looks like skiing is out of the question this season!

Hi Ryan,

I just tell the grandkids that they are too heavy to sit on my lap!! Grandma is getting old!! I just didn't think I'd feel this old at 56!!

Sorry your knees and hips hurt; this pain stuff is no fun and not too many things are helping with it. I'd kill for a big soaking tub with Lavender and Epsom Salts!! I even looked to see if any of the hotels close by had soaking tubs!! Trying to keep any extras except what is absolutely critical from going in me except for my S/O. And with me having the itch/rash from the Olysio hot baths are out right now. praying the change to Harvoni goes through and quickly too!

Hope you feel better!

The Aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath treatment stops the itch temporarily.  It worked for me that first month and then I just used some of the topical Aveeno itch products for the real itchy spots is how I was able to deal.

Check out Vitacost.com as they carry most handmade natural soaps at wholesale prices.  I buy the dead sea salt soaps that go for $6 at Whole Foods and get it from them. been using them for many things from vitamins, makeup, soaps, even some natural food items for years now.  Name brands…...
