GT3 Treatments
« on: December 07, 2014, 02:02:06 pm »
I finished 24 weeks of Sovaldi & Ribavirin treatment but after 12 weeks post completion I am not virus free. My viral load wasn't checked during treatment but my Alt and Ast  levels were in normal range after 4 weeks of treatment. Does anyone know of any alternative treatments that may be coming in the near future for GT3 patients? My Gastro Dr. told me there isn't any back up for my treatment. Also has anyone seen any explanation as to why the Sovaldi Ribavirin treatments fail in GT3 patients? Thanks for any response to my questions.

Hi,
I am sorry you had that outcome. I really don't know the answer to this yet. I suggest you keep searching Hep's news https://www.hepmag.com/category/science-news

yeah im genotype 3 and viral load 6.1mill and doc recommends solvadi/ribo combo without interferon cause of mental illness past. had it for 5 years now.. done allot of damage already f4 cirrhosis on a fibrosure and severe necroinflammatory scarring.
Im looking around for results of genotypoe 3 illness .. so maybe that's another reason my insurance wont approve cuz of the cure rate is low :(

Hi Serenitynow,

I am so sorry the treatment failed for you. I am sure more things will be coming down the pike really soon. I would keep an eye out on the clinical trials which may give you some ideas about your options.
