Hope I'm worried needlessly
« on: March 10, 2015, 12:32:38 am »
My husband had active Hep C when I met him. He did not know it. We were together about five years when we got a diagnosis of Hep C. He was also an insulin dependent diabetic. Over our 25 year marriage, I was stuck with a needle twice. We also shared a razor several times before realizing the danger. He died eight years ago from liver failure. I am experiencing heavy night sweats, muscle and joint pain for at least ten years. I have been tested two or three times and told I am ok. But the pains are getting worse and the sweating continues. What should I do?  Request another blood test, and what kind of test do I need?  What type of doctor should I see?

If you have been tested for the hep c antibodies and the test was negative you do not have hep c I don't know what to say about your other symptoms night sweats could be menopause among other things. See your General practicioner describe your symptoms and let them do the diagnosing. If needed they will send you to whatever specialist is needed if one is needed. Could just need Hormone replacement therapy and some Move Free for joint pain.

Good luck

Hi Terryswife3,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's passing.

Since you've been tested several times since then, and those test were negative, you don't have Hep-C.

I think Lynn gave some good advice and you should discuss these symptoms with your family doctor.

Best wishes, Mike
