starting treatment (again)
« on: March 15, 2015, 02:07:14 pm »
Hello everyone, I am 62 years old and I've had Hep-c since the late 70's. I have genotype 1a and have had two biopsies and one sonogram. my liver inflammation is at stage 1. I was treated in the late nineties with the combo of interferon and rivarin. The experience was awful both physically, emotionally and ultimately unsuccessful. I was just approved for harvoni  and due to my prior experience was very apprehensive to begin treatment. After reading prior posts on this forum I feel a lot better about proceeding with my new attempt to get rid of this virus. The medication will be mailed to me on Monday and will begin treatment soon after. I will be posting on my experience and reaction to this medication during the duration of treatment. I am hoping for a cure. Wish me luck.

Welcome and good luck

You will most likely find Harvoni treatment to be a walk in the park especially compared with interferon riba.

I guess the best recommendation is to keep appropriately hydrated this seems to help with any sides you may have such as some reported mild headaches.

So 8 glasses of liquids a day at minimum is key

Good luck hope you beat the Dragon!
