Post Harvoni Sleep Quality
« on: March 17, 2015, 09:15:59 pm »
For a while on my 8 weeks of Harvoni I slept really good but that seems to have faded away and I hope that doesn't mean I'm no longer Und.

Have any of you had fluctuations on your sleep quality? I don't seem to sleep as deep as I was mid term and I don't seem to have vivid dreams much any more.

I still feel kind of groggy in the daytime hours, like it's Harvoni side effect remnants.

Yes!  While some have had insomnia, I was like you and slept like I was out for the count!!  Now, after 12 wks of Harvoni, I'm back to sleeping poorly :(  Also like you, I've begun to wonder/worry if that means that I may not still be UND.  Praying that's not the case for either of us.

I go for labs next Wed/25th, and see my doc on 4/2.  Keeping my fingers crossed - for both of us Lukey.  I'll post as soon as I know results and be looking for your's too.  Blessing and courage,  ...Islandgirl

Hi there,

I don't think we're not Und. What I think Harvoni did is create some type of an imbalance in our bodies, some mineral or amino acid or something.
It'll balance out after a while.

I'm not sleeping poorly, just not as good as I was.

Crossing my fingers for us both. I see gastro tomorrow.

Hi Joe,

I hope you're right!  Just feeling apprehensive for some reason.  I woke before 5A this morning and just couldn't go back to sleep.  That's been happening off and on for about 2 weeks - or I wake even earlier and do a sleep/wake thing for a few hours.  So not like my normal sleep!

Hope your visit to gastro went well today.  Fingers crossed too.  ...Islandgirl 8)

Gastro appt didn't go good.

I don't like those people and I have doubts I'm ever going back there again.
I don't trust them. They are liars, put ons, and fakers..
I really think I'm all done with MDs. I don't really care if I live or die any more.

I've had enough of life.
I hate human beings.

Oh Joe, I'm so sorry.

Nobody likes people like that!  We need to be able to trust and relate to people we let close to us - docs and their staff included.

I felt like that about my first gastro many years ago and shocked him by saying "no" to the treatment he was trying to force me into.  Treatments at the time would have caused a geno 1b person more harm than good and the odds of gaining any good were not enough to risk.  I believe this self-proclaimed "god" (lower case g on purpose >:() couldn't believe I actually researched things and voiced an opinion!  Anyway, I never went back to that pompous ass again!

My current doc is very empathetic, down to earth and we decide things together.  She's very positive about my remaining UND, but I know that if it doesn't turn out that way, she will be caring and spend the time to support me and come up with other alternatives, even if there should be no alternative, I can count on her to help me cope and find a right path.

I wish that for you.

Please don't give up, take a deep breath and know that you  are a valuable individual and deserve better.  Find what's right for you and please remember that  we care about you and will be here no matter what.

When you feel like talking about it, I hope you will.  Feel a big hug and a vortex of healing energy surrounding you.  ...Islandgirl 8)

Thank you IslandGirl,

I've had gastro MDs that were pushy also. One fired me (it may have been 2 that did). One wanted me to get a colonoscopy, and I wasn't crazy about the idea, so he fired me. What a jerk!! Another one was dark skinned, from India, I think (not that I have anything against such people, but this one was a creep), and I just didn't seem to like the man and I think I missed an appt or two, so they too fired me. He seemed pushy and condescending. At that time, there was not much to value gastro MDs for unless you wanted a 30% Tx or a colonscopy. I do like them much better where I go now. They're not pushy jerks like some I've seen.

I went there [to my gastro's office] again today and it was OK.
I don't like the office lady but I liked the FNP I saw that works under my gastro MD.
Some of the office ladies there are rednecks / hillbilly chicks IMHO. I just think they're goofy and not real bright acting. :) I didn't take any cr@p from her [pats himself on the back], and I don't plan to.

It all happened to pay me back for getting mad at some guy that began to attack me and single me out on a small Hep C forum. I had known them for 10+ years, but the dude wasn't real nice to me so I told him just what to do with his forum. I could have done it with less words than I did. I seemed to learn the lesson again that it's usually best to say as little as needed. If you want to tell someone to shove their forum, that's not a bad thing, tell them to. Or, just tell them you're leaving and are not coming back. That's just as effective. I called the guy a few names, which I think was overkill and not needed. So, I ended up over reacting again, but at least I look back and realize I did, and at least I didn't let him walk on me.

She [the FNP] seemed to think I'm in line for the 96% that will stay Und.
I'll find out one of these days and will let you know.
She said she'd also check my serum ferritin, so that was nice of her.
I don't expect that to be very high because I don't eat red meat too often any more. :)

Don't feel sorry for Joe, he is a hater. He left this forum or got kicked off a while back. I think he has a couple different accounts here. I did miss him though, he is entertaining.

Just a reminder to be courteous to other posters. We need to focus on issues surrounding viral hepatitis.
