Whats next after Harvoni?
« on: April 08, 2015, 02:56:42 pm »
It seems there are so many potential drugs and trials going on right now to make ones head spin.  Is there a way to simplify all this and get rid of the noise?  Can somebody make a educated guess to what will be the next big thing? or what is likely not going to make it to market.   The trial dates would help also but there is such limited data available and with all the crazy multitude of different names for the same drug.

http://hcvdrugs.com/detailed_ref.html

My limited research is showing the following:

Gilead pipeline

1.  GS-7977 (Sofosbuvir/Sovaldi)
2.  GS-5885 (Ledipasvir)
3.  GS-5816* (Velpatasvir)
4.  GS-9857*
5.  GS-9669
6.  GS-9451

Currently 1 & 2 = Harvoni and is FDA approved in 10/2014

In trials are

1 & 3 (Phase III)
1, 3, & 4 (Phase II)
3 & 4 (Phase II)
There are also trial with Harvoni (1&2) in combination with 5 & 6.  There is not a lot of data or info about these that I could find.

Abbvie pipeline
1. ABT-453
2. ABT-530

These two are in phase IIb trials and will start phase III in 2016.  These drugs actually look more promising than any of Gilead's.

Merck Pipeline

1. MK-3682
2. MK-5172 (Grazoprevir)
3. MK-8742 (Elbasvir)
4. MK-8408

Drugs 1, 2 & 3 are in phase II
Drugs 1, 2, & 4 are in phase II

http://hcvadvocate.blogspot.ca/p/merck.html

Bristol-Myers Squibb pipeline

1. BMS-790052 (Daclatasvir, Daklinza)

This is going to be submitted to the FDA for Geno 3 patients with Gilead's sovaldi acting as the other agent.

Archillion Pipeline

1. ACH-3102* (Phase II with  Gilead's sovaldi acting as the other agent)
2. ACH-3422 (Phase I, will hope to replace Gilead's sovaldi as the "other agent")
3. ACH-1625* - (Sovaprevir)  (Phase II)

* indicates Pangenomic (cures all genotypes)

I am sure I missed a lot.  If anybody has the efficacy results for these studies, please post them.
